Camping at Rutherford Beach, Lousianna | The Arizona Trip Begins

Ойын-сауық

We begin our trip to Arizona for Mom's wedding, and along the way we find Rutherford Beach, the most incredible place to do beach camping. Rutherford Beach is in Louisiana and is beach camping at its finest allowing you to actually park up and camp right on the beach. Rutherford Beach is a free campsite with amenities such as portable bathrooms, trash take-out, and water. It features an amazing view of the Gulf of Mexico where you can fish, collect shells, hunt oysters, and camp. We enjoyed fantastic weather, beautiful scenery, a night under the stars, an awesome night of camp cooking, and a good night's sleep as we listened to the crashing of the waves.

Insane seeing this on someone's channel. I was looking for something about Chicot and this came up. This video brings up a lot of memories. I used to go there every year until about 1999. What you see now is not what it used to be. There were camps and houses about 1000 feet back, behind the beach, about 4 streets deep. I'd say probably 40-50 houses. A hurricane came and cleared them all, to the ground. Looks like the only thing left is that radio tower.

I’ve been throwing a trip to Padre Island National Seashore around in my mind for a while. Sadly, I only made it out to Peter’s Point once before that all ended. This definitely gives me a bit of a push.

Great video! We were going to stay there on our way to Sedona last year but there were thunderstorms in the area so we had to bypass it and head to Texas. Looking forward to hitting some friends with you soon!

“Lucky cream puff” here, we feel you are vulnerable at all times especially when you are leaving the security of your home for a tent or trailer. We can assure you that you will undoubtedly run into sketchy people anywhere you travel. We have plans in place for when we are out traveling around and we take our security seriously 😉, as should any one else who is traveling like we are. Your safety in this world is yours first, you can’t rely on others to make your safety their first priority. But thanks for the comment pertaining to the mosquitos, this beach is probably a prime place for mosquito season as there is a ton of non-moving water in the area so mosquito season should be planned for as well for this area. Best of wishes to you✌️😃
