We figured out the only way to experience Bhutan’s famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery ALL alone, and it was SO WORTH IT. This awesome experience was organized by Breathe Bhutan, & we highly recommend them! www.breathebhutan.com/
We hiked straight up over 4,000 feet (The Bumdra Trek) to a campsite in the middle of the stunning Himalayan Mountains of Bhutan. The reason we wanted to do this overnight hike was so that we could wake up at sunrise and be the first to hike down to visit the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. We thought that would be the highlight of the trip, but it turned out to be something entirely different :)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Trust me l guides there are amazing and very friendly. For example, my guide was a very wealthy supreme court lawyer, and the son of the royal police chief. But he was an amazing and humble person who was a guide not for the money, but for the love of his country. So toby if you're reading this, you're amazing

We’re working one to premiere at our 100th country party :)
I did this a few months back. To beat the tourists I woke up at 4am and went there at 5am. Me and my guide ran up the mountain taking almost no break except for a much needed tea break. We reached from the bottom to the top in under an hour and a quarter hrs, including the break. Towards the end it gets much simpler, as there are steps. But definitely taktsang hike was the highlight of my Bhutan trip, I was the first at the monastery. And it was beautiful. The guide said that it was his fastest time up I was 15 at the time, I'm 16 now

We had wet wipes with us on hand while traveling for those types of situations when the showers weren't the greatest (i.e. in India or hostels). Amazing video and amazing hike! In Colorado, we'd ski at 11,500 feet and one time I hiked a 14er (14,000 feet). The elevation really takes it out of you - good for you for running the last bit! Impressive!
