Worth noting that the brake cable on these vans can become stretched with fully extended airbags. Some folk unclip the cable retaining clip from the leaf spring... Good vid

As a previous mechanic from the 70’s, I still do a lot of the jobs on my van. You have very clearly shown and explained what is required to successfully undertake this task, for which I commend you. Excellent approach that shows the finished install, and how to get there. 😊

Individually valves airbags are better imho. Otherwise.... When one bag gets compressed on cornering it over inflates the other bag(s) making tgd an lean over even more? Despite the cost, time and hassle I'm gonna go for in dependant, separate airbags. Good to share ideas!

@@MultiOutdoorman I agree mate I had individual bags on my autotrail motorhome I had and it dose work well. This was just a kit to help when towing my trailer really so mainly just for lift so it was cheap and cheerful

Hi. Great video. Fella described every stage very clearly. The only thing i did not follow was hope he got 12 volt power to compressor. I presume in battery compartment. 15:31 Grant. 15:31

Nice video 👍🏼 I have fitted a few air bag sets to customers vans in the past, but they have been the single line single gauge system. However, I am still in two minds whether or not to fit them to my relay, which is constantly loaded on one side. It seems that the 2 line 2 garage system would be ideal, but, I’m nervous of removing the bump stops, and no longer having them. I’m also wondering if the HD springs with new bump tops are a better option. I wondered what your opinion might be on this? I’m a car/van mechanic so fitting either HD springs or air bags is fine for me. Thanks Tim

@@ttatimbo5830 I had the twin line system on my other motorhome as it’s was always at max weight. The twin line is a really good setup as I could use it to help level the van as in lifting one side and dropping the other. The air bags are very strong so no bump stops is fine in my opinion.

@@skidmores.garagethanks, appreciate your reply. I think I’m over thinking it really. Mine sits on the bump stop one side, and no where near on the other. My springs look tired but when I MOT’d it recently there are no cracks. So I’m thinking. Air bags might be the best way forward. Also, new springs, particularly HD twin leaf are surprisingly expensive

Just to say , one of your comments during the explanation of how much pressure you can add it is only up to 6bars on them bags

I run it around 2.5-3 bar while driving that’s a nice setting I find, anymore and it becomes a little stiff

That are a good addition to have for sure buddy. Yes fitting them can be a little intensive on you back I guess. Most garages I guess would take on the job for a cost it’s just knowing that that cost would be and could be expensive depending on the area you live maybe

I guess it depends what pressure you run them at, I ran my motorhome on about 2.5bar so I’ll have to see what this runs like with the trailer on
