Camper Stabilizer - Stop That Shake Rattle and Roll

#camperstabilizer #rvstabilizer #trailerstablizer Stabilizing your 5th wheel need not be a chore. We've found two devices that makes it super easy to stop the bouncing that can occur in the front of the 5th wheel as well as that forward movement from around the camper's tires and axles.
We have been using a Fastjack King Pin Stabilizer for several years. You'll see in the video, the unit still looks brand new. There are several different types of king pin stabilizers available. We found the FastJack lives up to its name. Regardless, if you've parked on a surface that's not level or has large gravel, the FastJack is simple to adjust in minutes to match the surface and stabilize the front of the 5th wheel.
Even with the 5th wheel king pin stabilizer and along with the front jacks and rear stabilizer, there can still be some forward and backward movement that results from the camper wheels and axle. Our solution was the Equal-i-zer Wheel Chocks. One note, you must have dual or triple axles under your camper for this system to work. Also, this is not for 5th wheels only. Any camper with multiple axles can benefit from the Equal-i-zer Wheel Chocks. After a one time configuration to set the length of the unit, these wheel chocks can be set in place in minutes. We found adding pressure to the tires and axles can reduce that forward movement often felt when there's brisk activity inside the camper.

    I’ve had JT Strong Arms on a 40’ 5th wheel that will take all the sway and bounce out of your camper and they stay right on your camper going down the road so you don’t sacrifice any storage space! As far as the wheel chocks I don’t think they help with stability but would help from rolling as long as you not on 2 different height blocks. Great video run down

    Nice video sir, however, if one wants to permanently stabilize your 5th wheel, you need to buy a Steadyfast system. It will take 95% of the shake/wobble,etc. out of your trailer. I installed one on my 5er and the difference is amazing. Once installed, it takes 45 seconds to set up, no hauling wheel chocks, king pins out, etc. Also, no need the store those extra pieces either. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

    Hello, RV newbie here. How much of a “no no” is it to leave your 5th wheel hooked to the tow vehicle while camping? While using front and rear stabilizing jacks that are OEM to the 5th wheel camper? Does this add to stability if you don’t intend to use your tow vehicle to go anywhere?

    Hi Terry. There is some 12V DC back feed that can come from the the 7 point plug. I’ve never done this. May depend more on the vehicle and the potential of over charging. On the other hand, don’t pull in for an overnight where’s there’s no shore power and leave the 7 point plug attached. You may wake up the next morning with a dead truck battery.

  • @iLoveRVlife

    @iLoveRVlife

    2 жыл бұрын

    I use both the xchocks and pin stabilizer if we’re going to be somewhere for a couple weeks or more. Usually add the xchocks before we run the slides out. Saves the knees. We don’t have hydraulic stablilizers, just electric jack in front and back. Using both stops all the wiggle especially when someone is running up and down the steps to the bed or bathroom.
