The Campari Spritz has its origins in Italy. Campari itself was invented in 1860 by Gaspare Campari in Novara, Italy. The spritz, a popular style of aperitif in Italy, especially in the Veneto region, traditionally combines a bitter liqueur like Campari with sparkling wine (typically prosecco) and soda water. The Campari Spritz is a modern variation of this classic Italian aperitif.
