Great review. Your mix of what worked and what did not work was good approach. I am a big fan of hiking poles, as I have not so great knees. The poles took some of the shock and weight off my joints. Plus on rough terrain they were handy. Personal choice. Enjoyed following your daily videos. You are very practical and honest it what you shared. Cheers - I will send you my link when I walk in September

Thanks Eric. Fortunately, my knees were probably the only body part I never had pain or trouble with. I appreciate you following along. Definitely send me a link for your journey. Take care.

Great video. Those microfiber towels are a great idea. A lot of those supplies translate over to the light camping overland community. Great tips knowing all those supplies worked for you who walked across a country!

That was fascinating Brian. It sounds like all your research paid off and you ended up taking just what you needed. I'm amazed at how that all fit in your backpack. As a non-trekker, I found it so interesting! One question: how long did it take you to pack up in the mornings? Thanks so much!

Thank you. I usually had most things packed the night before. I laid out my clothes for the day too. It took longer to pack at the beginning but then you figure out a system. I would say I could pack everything in about 15min by the end.

Thanks for sharing the contents of your pack and discussing what items worked and what items didn't work. Did you have any problems bringing your backpack on the plane as a carry-on bag? We're planning our trip and we really don't want to check our bags, if we don't have to.

Hi, No, I didn’t have any problems carrying my pack on the plane. I’m not sure how big your pack is but I looked up the carry on size limit for my airline to make sure my pack was close to their acceptable dimensions. I’m sure you know, but you can’t carry trekking poles on the plane if you have those. Good luck. Enjoy your trip.

@@Brians-Way Thanks for your response. Our bags are the Mystery Ranch Radix 31 liter backpacks. (23"x12"x9.5"). We really like the large outer storage pockets and the low weight of the pack. We are aware of the TSA restrictions, but thanks for mentioning it.

@@steveglennanyou should be good for carry on. My pack was 40 liters and relatively full. I had no problems at all.
