Camille's outfits were 100x better than Emily's. I think my favorite was the plaid dress with the sheer polka dot blouse underneath.

Camille was my absolute favorite character in this show! Genuine and sweet, fun and warm. Not to mention her style was on point all the time. It’s a shame she was surrounded by people who weren’t as genuine as she was.

You see Camille and you just want to be HER!

Camille and Sylvie are the main French girls. Of course they are better dressed. Emily’s supposed to be a contrast.

She is definitely very stylish and fashionista hehe.. pricey but she can pull them off! ❤

5 months later... but we see that her life suits to this pricy things, she has money but Emily, is kind of weird how she gets everything and we assume that she's middle class and working girl who has the best opportunity

That Chloe dress with zara blouse looked like 1 interesting dress

She is the most fashionable in the series so classy ❤

the funny thing is that all the things Camille is wearing are actually from Labels that are highly frequented by French women in general- in the case they can afford it;P- such as Maje, Sandro ( especially this two brands are very French for me), Acne off course;P, and &other Stories, Zara and Asos and Urban Outfitters ( the last 4 are probably popular all across Europe) - acutally Camille Style looks to me like she is always dressed allover in "& other Stories". I can't tell why but for me this brand presents her style in general and when I hit an "& other stories" Store I see outfits like the ones she wears in the show very often.

Yes she wore mostly Parisian labels - Iro, Sandro, Maje and her Polene bags. The stylist did a great job making her look like the effortless French chic, not to mention that Camille is actually French.

i think french women may commonly value just basic quality items that will last long and look nice. emily is the kind of person to be more label orientated and not always wear the best quality items/ wear timeless pieces

As a Parisian I can tell you we don't dress like Emily or Camille it's just too much. The Parisian style is more subtle, you can't even tell if it's a fashion designer piece or something bought in a random store, especially rich girls they love to keep it simple outside their bag you can't tell they have money.

@@WA-pd2cc In France (and most of other European countries) we don't really wear much makeup. It's usually foundation, mascara, lipstick or lipgloss. Brow pencil. Maybe eyeliner when you're feeling fancy. A lot of the times it's only foundation and mascara. I'm Italian but I've lived in France for some years. Maybe other French users might disagree with me, but from my experience people don't really wear a lot of make-up.

Well if she had better clothes Gabby would love to be taking them off and not some other girl’s dresses.

Camille and Sylvie's outfits are the best. The only outfits of Emily's I liked were her "Audrey Hepburn" look dress and her geometrical black and white dress in season 2.

Well obviously, not everyone has to look ordinary. We can see our friends were outfits Cammie wore. The real style icon is Gabrielle and the Black Boy at the office. They make pastel colored suits and jackets look like black t-shirts, so wearable.

My fav is the denim on denim one. With the black beret… so classy

She doesn't have a very affordable garde-robe either but at least she is relatable. Emily's outfit with her all-haute couture styles and ridiculous tributes to Audrey Hepburn would fit better in a sci-fi series.

Have you seen Emily's? She wears Chanel jackets and purses every episode = $10.000 - $15.000

Lets not forget that Emily was made to dress that way because after all she was an American trying to fit in- her styles are usually over the top- but definitely I would agree that Camille was the epitome of a Parisian chic..

It is amazing how much effort was taken on their outfits, the design of the sets, yet not on the script.

but lets don't forget: Camilles Outfits are very common among Europe, they even tend to be basic sometimes and they don't "scream" Fashion- and I think this was the intention of the show. Camilles outfits are telling us that she`s a French woman living in Paris, while Emilys outfits are telling us that she`s an American woman learning "savoir vivre" in Paris and I think this is the essential answer when it comes to the question why they put Lily Collins in such outrageous outfits for her role as Emily- she just has to stand out at all costs, in a crowd of people the viewer has to recognize her immediately to pursue the story and with the outfits she is wearing its not very difficult-wheter its positive or negative ;P And at the end- it is a story where fashion plays a big part, but it is not completely about fashion- I mean its supposed to be a new hip cult-tv-series for teenagers and mid twenties/thirties and takes place on Netflix and not a tv-series for professional fashion bloggers which takes place on fashion tv...;P

IMO Emily is meant to be outrageously loud and obnoxious- she is styled like how an American thinks Parisians dress. I feel like her style will tone down to be more lowkey and classy as the show progresses to show that she's acclimating to Paris.
