I watched this again after a long time.. I remember how depressed I was that day :) It's one of those and that can be easily picked up on a mic.. Early mornings like this we played for no one, but we still played hoping one good soul will pass by and contribute anything towards rent, food, music eq etc. Full time busking isn't always so sweet. I've seen most talented guitarists getting no audience too, because they focused on enjoying their jam instead of focusing on chatting up people to create the crowd. The attitude is always as important as skills to sound better and bee seen differently, but trust me the are times that no one would tell that it's all so dark for us. After meeting James Bowen at picadilly, my life changed in many good ways. He wrote a book that millions of people picked up after he was being trapped on streets like a decade.. barely making it into another day with hardly any money.. I reckon hardship is one of the best teachers. It's always to play a tune with a stompbox or a looper to make it groovy, but why set up all the EQ and waste the battery before the main one or two shows later on. On streets is a lot like in symmetry. What you give is what you get. While busking no one is as attracted to sad or slow songs, but hype and upbeat. I've also seen better days and shows, but it was all wrapped up into one beautiful set of lifetime experiences! Streets are humbling and let you see the reality that you won't see anywhere else ;) LOVE, CP!
