Parenting style is different but still raised a lot alike. My guys since they were toddlers started out with "yes maam, no maam and sir. They never had a babysitter other than our parents and only on our Anniversary and occasionally a date. They were always Mommas boys but now our youngest who is married is all about "Pops" but my oldest is alllll about Momma!! We have 2 adopted and our daughter-n-love and everyone lives here at home except our oldest adopted son, but he's still here a lot. There ages are 25, 24,23 ,22 and 16. And this Momma Dukes will make a girl disappear QUICK if I don't like her. So far Pops ha taken care of the boys. And all their friends like to come here and that makes them come to church with us a lot. My Husband and I have been married 25 years last week and they all think it's so cool because we still love and LIKE each other and have a blast with all of them.

As a mom of 4. 2boys 2girls YES my boys one grown are VERY selective with who they bring TO ME. In short as I've told all 4 of my children. Everyone out there is looking for the loyalty and tightness our family has you need to make them earn that shit. Everyone want's it but not everyone wants to stick around and do what it takes to earn that kind of love and respect. The oldest of the 4 a girl DOES NOT bring him around. I'm gonna say it's for his safety. My filter is broken at this point and I have NO desire to fix it. I'm praying our youngest a girl will do the same BUT she is a mix of her dad and I so if he can't get past her he definitely won't make it home to us.

I hope that one day I'm able to feel that my baby boy finds someone perfect, BUT he's 12 now, and has like a few girls that he's told us about and his dad has thought the girls were sweet, but not me lol. I now he's almost a teen but I still see him as a toddler sometimes and he hates it. But he's my oldest, and his baby sister is 3, but again, he's always going to be my first baby.

Excuse me while I go ugly cry...lol I have a son and daughter. Both are still super young, but I am not ready for their future adult life. Shoot, I'm not ready for their teenage lives lol I take a lot of examples from my parents. But I try to make it more fun and less strict than my upbringing but keeping the values and respect I learned. I want there to always be open communication about anything with them, hopefully that works out.

After raising 7 kids I can tell you after the age of 25 you just want them to find someone else to cook and clean up after them. 🥰

I have an odd perspective on the difference between mothering girls and mothering boys. For my girls I wanted them to find good men that would treat them right and let them be equals without being intimidated by them. I had two girls, now I am raising my grandson and what I would really like for him is someone who will help him be the best man he can be. Overall girls or boys I just want them to be happy. I don't always know what will make them happy so I can't choose for them.

My son is 15 now. Yes I worry about the women in is life. My daughter is 17. I worry all the time since it's just me. Their father passed when my daughter was 2 and I was pregnant. I worry they are missing out on that. I know their dad is looking out for them. He passed in Iraq in 2004. He was a US Marine. My baby girl wants to follow in his footsteps. I admit I cried.
