Thank you for this videos with Queen Maria. People loved her. Very reare are born people with her personality. We was lucky to have her as a Queen. Her daughter Ileana had her personality. If we wouldn't had comunism Ileana could play an important role in Romania future and development.

"Mother of the Romanians" It was Cuza who created the modern Romanian state. The family of Carol and Ferdinant came to power from Germany after Cuza was betrayed and couped by those around him who resented his popular policies which helped the actual masses of Romania as opposed to the ruling elites. The constant praise this family gets is way of siding against the only real Romanian ruler of Romania and being on the side of foreigners brought in to replace it in spite of the will of the popular masses. Without external factors like the US joining the war, Ferdinant would have probably erased Romania off the map in WW1. The only reason that didnt happen was luck from outside the country. The Great Union was nothing but a result of the balance of power between factions in WW1 changing, it was dumb luck, not a result of any good Romanian policy. Meanwhile all of Cuza's achievements were his own. He created the Romanian state for the first time in history, he abolished serfdom, liberating millions, he gave land to the peasants, he implemented democratic measures (he even supported universal male sufferage but didnt have time to implement it because he was couped), etc. To praise the family of Queen Maria, Ferdinant, Carol, etc. Is to fall into the lies of modern historiography and side against your own people.

@@draculea4222 Romania Being on the winning side was due to luck, but almost losing was also due to luck aka the Russians giving up. And Unification was due Policy. A verry good response millitarilly after the war in solidifing control in all of the Regions gained afterwards and most importantly a verry active campaine of raising awarenes internationally of those regions and their Romanian population. And ofcourse Diplomacy, Queen Maria also taking that role. The Royal House were foreigners by birth but they Became Romanian by action and adopting the Language, Culture of The People. We are not a nation build by blood but by language.

@@draculea4222 "Cuza made the modern Romanian state" my ass. Most of Cuza's reforms were just changing of names but not actual policies like serfdom just became neo-surfdom like how slavery in U.S.A turned into neo slavery after the civil war and the land grant to the peasants is greatly overrated and didn't accomplish much and this can be seen by how the peasants kept asking for land reform till a proper land reform was done after World War 1. Also them winning World War 1 doesn't change the fact they modernised Romania. And also Cuza's unification was still luck of the Great Powers not making a plan in case someone gets elected in both principalities.

@@draculea4222 ''It was Cuza who created the modern Romanian state'' It could be only a joke, Cuza unified Moldova and Wallachia under the name of United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia, but the modern state started with arrival of Carol I and the new Constitution in 1866.

Se spune lucruri bune de Regina Maria. Dar ce este interesant modul de imbracaminte ciudata. ?? Prea multe chestii birgidele. Fel de fel. Eu inteleg batrinii în acele vremuri. Buna mea nascuta în 1897. Se imbraca la fel. Hmm. Culori închise. Prohodita din cap pina jos. Incredibil

Interesting footage of the head of one of the least influential courts of Europe. She could have Queen of England if she'd married her cousin George, son of Edward VII. She once appeared at a White House reception in a dress decorated with goldfish, hand-painted by herself. Washington society rolled their eyes, but were slightly amused.
