Anyone notice Jung So Min always play the homeless girl? - in Playful Kiss, her house broke down and she and her dad had to move in the main lead's house - Then here she can't pay rent and therefore has to live in a hostel. - in Because This Is My First Life, she couldn't live in her home because her brother getting married, also had troubles getting paid at work and struggled to rent a decent room and stay in Seoul, so she moved in with main lead and faked a marriage with him - in Monthly Magazine Home, she was moved from place to place, also struggled with financial problems and moved in with main lead All adorable, delightful characters though, I love Jung Somin, watched most of her dramas, turned out it's all good, not sure because she did a good job picking dramas or I just enjoy her acting so much

Unfortunately cold n sad reality... sometimes it's true loving someone not enough to make it...but I married someone I didn't know and he was poor and no education and an immigrant just by choice of faith...and he simply ask me to give him a chance and make a life with him...we struggled for first 5 years and we indured and never gave up...and we made it...now we learned thru this struggle to love each other and respect each other...we have 4children...we have two cars and two homes... one in Canada n one in Africa...we travel and give charity for broken famillies...and even able to help out our children and give them each their own home...so they won't have to struggle as hard as we had too!!!...so this movie no matter how realistic it is... I don't respect it...I would of chose the man n help him thru it...not abandon ship n have apt for 2years n shoes n window to gaze at stars

Beautiful but sad. The ending is regrettably sad but realistically reflects how extreme poverty could sometimes cloud one's judgment as to what should be valued more in life. Had the woman possessed a stronger character, she would have chosen to face all odds and would have felt strengthened by the overwhelming love that her boyfriend has for her. The guy was amazing.

So finally after struggling with poverty, ja Seong can finally be a master of real estate and a billionaire, so he's going to chase his lover who still struggling under the poverty in monthly magazine lol this is great, I love the parallel

Wow no wonder they have great chemistry in Monthly Magazine Home

This couple has out of this world chemistry. And their acting is so tender together. KJS is my favorite Kdrama actor. He definitely has the "it" factor. MMH is so fun and romantic.

Someone recommended this and watching while waiting for ep 7 of Monthly Magazine Home the chemistry is amazing

Oh my God! I just found out that Jung Somin and Kim Jiseok had starred in the same drama before. So Monthly Magazine Home is their second project together, right? Wow! Never knew that this kind of thing could happen in real life. I thought K-industry will never pair the same leads again if they have worked together before.

he died and became a star (= title of the drama) watching her from up in the sky (= at the end she smiles to the star)

This is my nth times that I watched this drama but I still cried. Seeing the talking eyes, facial expressions and those silent meaningful moments of Jung So Min really touched my heart especially in the end while she was watching the star. A short drama but meaningful and heartbreaking as the love of her life died and became a star.

woah, when I finish watching the monthly magazine house I cry and cry after this one, there seems to be something similar in the monthly magazine house, their chemistry is great 😭💕

This is a touching but sad love story. I cried towards the ending of the drama. Still both the male and female leads did a great job in portraying the characters realistically and they have good chemistry in the drama. On a separate note, I'm happy to see Jung Somin on the TV screen again.

Watching this after I found out they starred together prior to Monthly Magazine House! Love this couple Kim Jiseok andJeong Somin,! 😍😍😍😍

I’d give this movie a 5 out of 5 ⭐️ It’s nice to see a movie with a slice of life in it.

For everyone who wants to understand better: After a time in Seoul and failing to establish herself, the weight of expectations to succeed and her increasingly desperate situation skewed her judgment on love and relationship. She was totally devastated by disillusionment upon disclosure of his equally desperate situation, and decided to leave for mom and the hometown. He sold the car and used it to give her the apartment as a gift, as something he wanted to do for her, as thanks for her being part of his life, and as encouragement and support for her to stay in Seoul. At the last moment, the slippers reminded her how he had been there for her, and everything about him pulled together to awaken her up to what is real and important to her. As she returned to the terminal, she saw the news and rushed back to the hostel. He died (whether then, or after two years of her attending to him is open to viewer interpretation), and she has gotten a better grasp at managing life. As a tribute to him, she now went and opened the gift. She wanted a window to see the sun as a gesture of life's fairness. That window doesn't quite seem to give her a good view of the sun shared by everyone, but does give her the exclusive view of the star that is him (thus the title). They (she and the star as him) are together on first snow and completes a popular myth has it that when lovers are together on first snow, dreams will come true. In short, she had no use and no need for the apartment and its materialistic significance because she has never been, by nature, materialistic, and she was there to pay tribute to him and his gesture of kindness by finally accepting and "opening" the gift. The last scene is ripe with symbolism. Him (the star), her, a gift that remains after death, first snow, fulfilled promise (shoes), a small windows with an exclusive of a designated and especially bright star, eternal love, support and following.

This movie really made me cry, the story line was so beautiful. Even though the ending wasn't so happy, but it reminded me of Romeo and Juliet in a way. The struggles, pain, and above all love. Then suddenly when things looks the brightest, there it shows a sudden scene where they are split apart. In this they broke up, in Romeo and Juliet he was banished. Then when you hope for the best. He dies. Its similar in a way. Showing the strong love they had, then showing a bit on conflict, then more love. Then suddenly they end with a sad ending with death. I hate how it all turned out but you could not hate the movie, you could not hate the characters. They were made this way, there are movies that are meant to make you cry. This movie was worth watching, and I am planning to watch it again some day.

I cant believe I'm watching this again. I remember the first time I watch Jung So Min years back and this was that movie. I randomly saw it on television and I was in awe of how beautiful she is and realized she has resemblance with another pretty actress (who I found out to be Son Ye Jin). Since then whenever I see Jung So Min I was reminded of the rice cooker scene 😆 That scene will never not be iconic and funny for me 😆

The story is really realistic. I dnt really like heavy dramas coz u knw life is already full of dramas and u wanna get away from them even for while by wtching movies but I really liked this mini drama.... the actors were great too...

I love how at 56:16 and 1:01:04 there isnt any sad music or effects to create the atmosphere, its just solid raw emotions.

my feels. I cried really hard on the last part. :( ..Their story is so unique and realistic i just want to know what happened to the guy. He's not dead cause the news only said he was severely injured. I wish that they could have met in the end. The guy was not able to see what the girl choose in the end. Great story. love it

I am inlove with this drama special, the first half was so sweet and special; and, while the second was tragic, nevertheless, it was able to show the sensibility of directing and the acting of both actors, Kim Ji Seok and Jung So Min!

I stayed and finished the film cause I found her very attractive. Her mini smile brings a huge BANG that can cause a heart attack.

i love it. love wasn't overrated and all... it show how people become desperate and how differently people reacts on situation. being in love and being together aren't the same. and i love how selfless the lead male was. i'd probably love the same way.

It takes a strong faith and love for each other. You can make it thru anything with two young ppl working together. I been there and I’ve done it. I would never wanted to do it alone. I could have, but I’m grateful my husband and I chose to do it together.

SOMIN JUNG IS ALWAYS GIVING ME TGE FEELS I WANNA CRY

I'm in the minority here. I really liked it. Keep in mind it's telling a story in only 1 hr 14 mins. I found it a melancholy story of 2 people with financial woes that were keeping their lives from being what they wanted their life to be...who can't relate to that. I mention the length because everything has to happen somewhat quickly, but I think Ha Jin and Kang Seok's relationship came together comfortably and believable. However, after a certain revelation things turn ugly. It was poignant and sadly disappointing when Ha Jin rejects Kang Seok. It breaks your heart that she seems to be completely heartless and materialistic no matter what the justification. Then when Kang Seok nearly follows suit in wishing his own sick mother would either get well or die so he can get on with his life really shocks you...but...if we are to be honest with ourselves we likely have been nearly as selfish at some point. However, in the end both come to their senses, unfortunately for Ha Jin it's too late. Yet, Kang Seok's kindness will forever be Ha Jin'S as he will forever watch over her from a far. A bittersweet end.

At first, this movie was interesting, but it got bad eventually. I thought the girl loved the guy at first. But what she said to him wasn't fair. She said she fell in love with the guy who earned about 100,000$, not the guy who had debts and a sick mother. She shouldn't have said that to him. He's trying his best, but you're seriously going to tell him that you fell in love cause you thought he was rich? Which part of that is okay to you? Also, in the end, the guy was probably alive cause the news said he was badly injured. I don't think she knew about what happened to him because she wasn't even paying attention to the news. Also, I know she wanted to come back for him, but why did she go to the house the guy brought her, and not to the hostel? If she went, she'd probably find out what happened to him. That ending is really confusing.

I don't think a lot of you are understanding how much they loved each other. She knew if he found out she was poor, he'd have to think about the burden his mother placed on him, and that it would tear him apart. So she tried to hide it, and when he found out, she had to try and leave him, or else he'd really think about shutting off his mother. She knew they couldn't be together as they'd both end up worse off. She wasn't a gold digger, she was saying the truth.

Wasnt he was injured?? And why she was running at the end? and Where she was going?

I just don't like it when he had bad intentions toward his mother. If it was me, that thought would never come in my mind because I love my family so much. We can earn money again and overcome financial problems, but we only have one mother. 😭😭😭

Harsh reality of life...if we share sadness its divided but when we share poverty its doubled!!! But being so self centred as that girl is like oh no plz stop mann but relieved after knowing she still had feelings for him nd returns back to him but it was too late. Love the efforts of boy to maintain a good relationship but he should realise that if someone can't respect her mom he should cut his strings without being late as he couldn't either say anything to his lover or leave his mom for her. It was good for both to split up. I feel bad for the boy he was really very diligent,caring trustworthy son as well as bf😭😭😭😭 She should understand him an cooperate with him after some time things would be sorted!!!

omg, I watched Chansung's "Your Noir" and then this one back to back! Two tragic Drama Specials in a row! Thanks a lot KBS! lol But they were both good. Including this one. Very sad, but a nice story still. Love Kim Ji Suk!

Ivy Zhu most k dramas specials are quite realistic about human behaviour. They show us the inherent selfishness of human nature

she loves him so much that she doesn't want to make him suffer because of her .so she made a choice to leave him.what else she can do she has to look after her mother and she has to feed herself so that she can make money for her mom.and that guy suffered a lot to look after his family by paying all the debts and looking after his mom .after going through a lot in his life the only thing he wished is to be with that girl .even though he tried to kill his mother for that girl he realized his mistake and he has chosen his mother over that girl. they both were so understanding to each other that's why they decided to breakup .instead of being together and suffering the pain they decided to be happy by staying away from each other so that they cannot see pain of one other .she didn't show her love that doesn't mean she don't love him.if she don't love him why will she come back.I have read some where the difference between love and like "IF U LIKE A FLOWER YOU WILL PLUCK IT,BUT IF YOU LOVE A FLOWER YOU WILL DAILY WATER THE PLANT ".They both love each other so much that they wished for each others happiness and they decided to break to breakup.that's what love is instead of holding each other for once sake they decide to look after their families by sacrificing their love for one another.please respect it.

I just love every movie on here.they have so much heart and passion.wouldn't it be great if we could find that in real life!
