I remember this place as a kid! There use to be a cafeteria in there. The spider rides missing. The slide and bumper cars are gone. I need to take my grandkids there. Thanks John and Bobbi! You bought back alot of memories and good times!

@@pregnant9574, these days it’s never as crowded as it was when I was a kid, or when I worked there when I was in college. Use to be cars parked on both sides of the road, filling the little patch of ground across the road, and the parking lot full on the weekends.

I was so excited to see this video! Brought back a lot of memories for me. Back in the 1970’s my Papaw worked for the Goodyear Atomic Plant in Pike County Ohio and every Summer the plant would reserve the park for a day for the employee’s and families. My grandparents would take our family and my Aunt and Uncle and cousins and it was so special! We could not have afforded to go otherwise. There used to be a cafeteria style restaurant where we had to eat “a decent lunch” per the grandparents, before getting to ride. I was always too scared to ride The Big Dipper and much preferred the smaller version! I remember the snow cones and pronto pups which I think were only 25 cents back then. I am glad the park is enjoying a new popularity. A wonderful and more affordable reminder of the time before all the expensive commercialized parks of today.

Hey everyone!!!! This video ROCKS!!! The narration is remarkable and it's a style that captures every aspect, and we LOVED IT!!! The Dark Ride Artist Chuck Burnham himself, says he appreciates the people that love his work, that believe in this vision, and that know that art in any form is great...but ESPECIALLY THIS FORM is a wonderful thing!!! He plans on finishing what he's started, and making these monsters showcase his artistic abilities, and have them bring nightmares to fruition. You all are very much loved and appreciated. Let's keep CHUCK BURNHAMs name coming up so we can give you the art to fuel your imagination!!!!

Thanks for bringing us along to Camden Park. Cool old time amusement park. Here in Central PA I lived 15 minutes from two small parks like this. They are both gone now. Williams Grove and Willow Mills were both in Mechanicsburg, PA. Our small town of West Fairview always had our yearly Town Picnic at Willow Mills. When that closed our town picnic moved to Williams Grove until that one closed. My go to snowcone flavors are grape or rootbeer. Take care.

All of us were so excited and when we got there the park had been rented out the entire day by a coal mining company for their workers. My Uncle asked to speak to management and explained the drive for all us kids. The park managment asked the coal mine company and they said yeah let em in. Camden Park is a local gem. I used to go there from the 70s through the 80s. Looks like they haven't repainted most of that stuff or repaired the blacktop since the 80s. The Big Dipper (roller coaster) looks like it's in a bad state of disrepair. They kept things up much better in the 80s, it seems. All that said, the rides are mostly the same ones they've had since the 70s, at least.

@@jbinthehills It really is...besides the fact that it's not so well-maintained now, it looks much like it did in the late 70s. I wonder what it was like in the early 1900s. There were fairgrounds there predating the park and I guess the Indian Mound was a major attraction back in those days. That site was a stop on the trolly/streetcar line that ran through the Huntington area; Camden Park developed there to take advantage of the traffic.

My favorite snowcone flavors are grape or rootbeer. We had a snowcone machine like that we would rent for our combined Fire Dept , Fire Police and Ambulance Carnival we ran Tue. thru Sat. in June for like 12 years until Covid hit. That ruined our carnival. Williams Grove Amusement Park in Mechanicsburg, PA had a kiddie boat ride on the actual lake in the park. Kinney Shoes Corp. Office yearly company picnic was at Willians Grove. The park is long gone. Right now there is an ongoing fund raising effort to raise funds to remove the Carousel House from the park to the Antique Iron Horse grounds to restore it to make it a working Carousel again. How cool would that be. Great older park.

Love going back and watching your old videos. I remember going to Camden park when I was little and crying every time at the sight of the big clown on the sign. 😂😂😂 only Tristaters get it!

Even though it doesn't have any thrill rides, John, I had a great time. But of course, these rides are more my speed.🤣 Thanks for watching 😎😎

My kind of amusement park , I'm not a fan of those huge roller coasters. Thanks for taking me along on your visit

You are like me . I like the smaller coasters. 😎😎
This brings back memories. It’s smaller than I remember…as most things are when we grow up. I was raised in Dunbar & remember getting in sooo much trouble for skipping school & spending the day here.

Maybe next time, the big roller coaster will be running.😎😎
Those rides were ones I rode in my childhood. The amusement parks my parent took us to have been shut down where I live. It is nice to see there is a place that still has them. Thanks for video.

These were very old. Hard to believe they still work and run. Loved the retro feel from here.😎😎
Oh my lord, this video brings back memories. I'm from the Huntington area. I spent many a summer day there back in the early 70's. Doesn't look like it's changed much😂. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Love you guys.

I wish you wouldn't have fast forwarded the sky ride. Its a marvel that the thing even still runs. The rusted out towers and all the corrosion and rust on the wheels up top, the way it sounds and bounces around. This thing is the scariest ride I have ever been on, and I rode Fury 325 that day before coming there. None of the coasters were open, and I just took the place for what it was. The haunted house is cool and I really appreciate the cool art on and in it. Flying Scooters are always fun and its nice to see an old whip.
