Camden Garbage & Recycling - Their Pink & Blue Trucks

On a hot summers day out in the suburb of Oran Park, I managed to capture a variety of different trucks operated by the newer sector of Camden Council. After seeing other uploads of these trucks by other garbos, I figured it would be a superb idea to head over there myself and catch up with these brightly coloured machines to get in front of the camera.
This trip was one of the longer trips via public transport and with not knowing when these trucks run, I ended up leaving home around 6am, arriving at 7:30am, and not finding the recycling truck until around 8am! Camden council in my opinion would be one of the more highly up to date with their technology and infrustructure, so they don't have any of the MkIVs or euro4s left, all the euro4s were replaced sometime in 2018 I think, with reallocating the numbers over from the older trucks to the newer trucks. Pretty much all of the Camden fleet consists of euro5 Bucher GenVs with the odd euro6, which I don't know where it runs.

Love these trucks, very colourful too. Those KSB sulos with the viscount wastemaster lids for recycling are just weird. I’ve seen them on normal sulo bodies, but never a KSB. Good footage!

Hey mate, thanks for putting the time in to make these videos. I'm not personally one to comment often. But I thought you might like to here this. I have a 2 year boy that thinks this video is the greatest thing since Emma Wiggle! He loves the pink and blue trucks, and this video is literally the only video on the internet that has his undivided attention from start to finish every time it goes on. (Everyday before dinner) Keep up the great work 👍

Sulo lids on what is probably a viscount 80L... looks weird. Do wonder how that bin could be so full with the weekly collections

The Australian Garbologist even better. Can’t tell a Nylex/SPAK/Viscount apart without looking really closely at the lip moulding anyway
Great video mate, you‘ve been uploading some good stuff in the last few weeks, keep up the great work :D I finally got around writing another comment under your videos. Both trucks look really mad as, especially with the Visors and I‘m really glad you caught these. The blue-white and pink-white color combo look exceptional, in my opinion even better than fully colored trucks like they have in Blacktown. As big as I was a fan of Camden olds signage with the colored tailgates and rims, I think their new fleet is a good substitute signage wise, every truck in the fleet is unique in it‘s own. Hard to pick a favorite between all of them but I‘ve been a fan of the blue ones (the SL and the two RL). The only thing that would make them look even better would be the plastic mudguards over the wheels colored in the same color as the cab like the old trucks had them. Also seems like Camden has gone back to Acco and Bucher for their latest fleet upgrades after trying out Volvo and Spak for a bit, are there any old trucks left in the fleet or is it a full newer Acco Bucher/Spak fleet nowadays? How many trucks are there in the fleet now, as far as I remember it was four for each waste stream right? Another thing I noticed in the video is that it seems like Camden is giving out nature green body bins out now, definitely a interesting choice, gives me a bit of Queensland vibes haha. One thing I gotta ask you though, do you know if they still have the Heil DP500 and if so, could you try to film it, would be cool to see a newer Heil RL which are very rare in Australia.

Yooozaaa Laurin, as I know about Camden now as you know why, they are now aiming for those trucks yes, and with the nature green bodies those are for commercial bins, that’s why they are light/nature green. They also give 360l for commercial which I’ll try and film for ya, and they also get collected weekly, which is why Camden are mad and they take good care of their residents, only bummer is that I wish they had light green 120 and 80 and 120 for green and yellow.. @@TheAustralianGarbologist Cheers for the information Daman, so nature green is for commercial, weird to see them in the middle of a residential area haha. Yeah, Camden offers great service, all three bins collected weekly, although I do wonder why so many people have a 240L garbage bins when the recycling and green waste gets collected weekly too 🤔

@@laurin4339 yea confuses me too, sometimes people don’t even know they have an option as the previous owner may have had a 240L or now waste is more produced there and they worry about it less

I do like the visors on these trucks, but they Often break off. Wonder how long they’ll last before they’re fucked. Interesting to hear Camden is going with nature green bodies when the recommended standard is Dark green or black.
