The hood looks really good. I think the heat shielding looks nice too, with it up I didn’t notice anything “off” or un even. Looks good.

My expectations might have been too high but today I went to the body shop, looked it over and told them to take it off. The slight waves and small imperfections were more than I was willing to accept on my Camaro. Looks awesome in pictures and video. Real life, Nope. May be just me, I want it perfect.

It’s literally a race car part. Even my Seibon carbon parts don’t fit perfectly I have small alignment issues with my hood and Seibon is the best in the business. Yes the aesthetics are nice but it’s purpose is to shave weight.

Really liking the new hood. I was not expecting to when I first saw it, but it has definitely grown on me. Nice new look for a new year. Was wondering what you thought of the ZL1 front end on the SS?

Jerrick Morales had my Anderson Hood for about a year now really happy with my hood! I thought about doing hood pins myself just seems scary as hell to drill into such a expensive item! Had no problems using factory latch but I don’t race or so high speeds often. I went with a different look for my hood I’m not a big fan of the Wet Carbon look. I got hood wrapped and got Stealth Xpel for the center cowl of my hood to match the dry Carbon tips that my Borla atak have.

@@TrigunV4S Yeah it definitely is scary. There's a shop here, Life's Good Racing, that said they can do it for me. I go to the track so I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I love the hood Matt. But I honestly can say that Motorfire has the best hood on a Camaro on KZread. I dunno why, but the carbon fiber hood with the big cowel on his SS is just sexy as hell.

It looks real nice with the carbon exposed. Just wrap the hood with a carbon fiber print now there is no fade of your real carbon fiber.

I'd have probably picked a white wrap to match the rest of the car. Once its open people can see the CF. But closed, nobody is any wiser

You cant see the carbon print under the hood and if you wrap it with carbon print your not just pretending to have a carbon hood for the looks, and you still get to enjoy the look without damaging the real carbon. But that's only if you want to see the fiber print.

Why would you not use gold heat reflection tape?

Does anyone know if this fits or can replace a 2017 Zl1 hood ?

no your supposed to smack the thin windshield. I believe some one on camaro6 did that the corner of the hood hit the windshield and spidered it.

hey, so I recently bought a carbon hood from Anderson and I was wondering if you think sanding down the application area for the heat shield is a good idea? or do you think I should not do that and just stick with an adhesive spray for the heat shield? Thanks!

I have one but it's for dual exhaust if you're interested. It can be cut.

We do not think so, based on air pressure, we had to make adjustments to account for the hood

What’s the life expectancy for these hoods? I want one but don’t plan on doing any mods till after September and pay off this car. (got to pay before we play) just want to do my homework while I wait lol.

If you take care of it, should be a few years before any yellowing if left exposed. UV is resins worst enemy

Hi lethal , I own a 2014 Camaro 2SS and recently ( today ) my car started misfiring and shut down on the road and I got a ( service stablitrac icon ) came on ( sorry for the misspell , I'm a little upset , I went to Camaro 5 website and the guys were saying it was more than likely , Battery issues /cable to the battery ,a loose connection or a dead cell in the battery , I chatted with another Camaro brother ( Camaro time ) he said that it could be anything from the battery to the timing chain , in your opinion , what do you think it could be , the car wouldn't start back up at all , thanks if you do answer my question , limited money and resources to fix the issue , hoping it's just the battery :(

I wish I knew more on what could cause that. Could be all the items you mentioned, but honestly run a diagnostic and see what codes pop up. Best place to start after doing a reset on the battery to see if it could have been a dumb power issue.

LethalGarage apparently a lot of Gen 5 s have had this issue , the car is at a local shop and tomorrow a tech from chev will take a look at it and since this is a common problem, that I’ve seen on the Camaro sites , just thought that since you know guys who own the same , that you might have heard about it but I’ll let you know just what the tech guy tells me , thanks bro , love your channel
