You should always be happy of your heritage no matter if there’s a fellow compatriot of yours who is famous worldwide. I am Albanian and you might have heard of Dua Lipa. I was proud and I am still proud to be Albanian before I knew about Dua Lipa. As I said everyone should be proud of their country.
Such a handsome and talented guy. Very enjoyable music.
I totally missed that : " Oh, it's THAT guy" phase and walked in on : "Woah, this music is transformational !" My daughter was driving me up to my mom's funeral, and playing her music along the way (Doesn't like my driving OR my music :) Anyway, when I heard "Thinking About You" for the first time, when I got home I put it on my mp3 and have loved it ever since. That and "Let's Go" are my favorites. I'm 62 but anything this perfect HAS GOT ME !

Saw him at Glastonbury in the John Peel tent playing his first album. I enjoyed it! Never thought he would morph into a global superstar. He must be raking it in. Still seems very down to earth and humble despite the mega bucks.

Woah, his accent is all over the place. Sounds like he's got a bit of Highlands mixed with Edinburgh and a little London on the go. Really hard to pinpoint exactly where.

truly inspirational
wow great story u made it man
Funny how you make assumptions about people. I always used to think “ugh, bloody Calvin Harris, must be a really annoying overconfident, entitled dick”, having never really seen or heard him in person. But he actually comes across as very reserved, polite guy, humble and grateful for his good fortune. And of course amazingly talented. I hadn’t realised until recently, just how many classic hits he’s behind. He’s pretty much ‘the sound’ of the last decade or two of pop and dance. Hats off to ya mate.
I loved his album "Ready For The Weekend" !
God I love his accent!

Lazy artists have to switch up there styles to keep there career alive, look at skrillex for example, the sound that made him famous has changed
@nexa6280

macguy7900 But Calvin Harris is different, he's making more and more poppy trash to match his insane popularity and musically getting progressively worse. I appreciate artists need to evolve and leave the past to be interesting but Calvin Harris for me is certainly any example where he is going backwards in musical quality. He's selling more because he's more trendy. Why should he care? Gets insane money anyway.

he got contracts from the music mafia ( the big labels) and he had to do this kind of music, if he didn't he was poor and not so known.

NICE!!!!! :)
I really hope his next album is more like his first - simpler music with his vocals just sounds better, it's a shame to hear him say he doesn't enjoy those tracks as much. Saw him in 2010 and it was the best gig i've ever been to. Still love his music though !
Back in like 2002, Calvin made a 12 inch single under the name "Stouffer"
it's crazy how he blew up I wish he stuck to his own unique style though rather than just commercial bangers
I'm proud to say that I loved his stuff before he got big in the US. Merrymaking at my Place, Acceptable in the 80s, Neon Rocks, I Created Disco. Classics. His "reinvented" stuff is good too - Bounce, Feel So Close, Ready for the Weekend, Sweet Nothing - but the ones where he's singing... that'll always be the better quality ones to me.

Hi im from 2020
I am one of those fans who is looking at you doing your pop thing and saying "ahhh, look it's that guy" but your one of the few artists that has enough talent to pull it off. It is obvious that Calvin Harris is torn between worlds, but he is one of the artists who brought EDM into the mainstream and I hardly consider songs like Bounce to be sell outs.

+Annie Leah I'm guessing it's more that most of them are conceited, self-absorbed egomaniacs. Not saying Calvin's that way - though what do I know, he might well be - but I think we can agree there's a strong tendency for the super-privileged to be cunts.

I used to listen his records when he first came out with merrymakin' at my place, acceptable in the 80's. and i loved them! and 2 years ago i was working in a festival as an artist assistant and i ve met him and his gf. It was the beginning of his new style. and when he played it was a huge disappointment for the crowd because everybody wanted to hear the classics. So he didnt shift the audience he just got rid of them(us).
