Every time Ian twitched when Pat said "WOW!" I laughed so hard. I can re-watch those scenes over and over and still laugh. It's like he instantly finds that sound ear-grating and knows it means he's about to be annoyed! But I'm just like Pat when I'm browsing retro games. I can't help it! "OH WOW!"

I love how the "Boxed games!" conversation is actually how they started talking. At least according to the podcast.

As a cashier I'd feel a little uneasy with this stores layout, it looks like the main area is entirely obscured from the counter.

+BobvanKay my local store is set out like this all the disks are behind the desk andd cartriges are in glass casess so if you rob the boxes you wont get the games.

They actually reference this observation quite a few times in the cpu podcast, this is the first time I’ve seen a video containing the old store. (Unless I’m wrong about this being the old store but it doesn’t look like the later layout and set up of the stores in the newer videos)

@@dann6065 this store was the voltaire store in OB. They moved out of it in 2012 or so. Then they moved to I believe Newport street. Stayed there for 4 or so years before leaving OB completely for Chula Vista.

@rerunturbografx It pretty much was. The location was wedged in between actual stores and houses. Very weird location. The later stores are much more store-like.

I actually talked to the Luna Games employee while I was looking for Earthbound cheaply. He's really nice in general and I can't believe he didn't sound a bit annoyed about me fanboying on him XD

There's literally no hope for humanity if you can't tell a skit when you see one.

Ian acted much more customer friendly than the owners of the game store I used to go to XD.

Also Space Harrier was ported onto the NES but only in Japan.

I miss Ian in these videos, hell I miss these reviews :)

Ian has got the art of sarcasm down perfectly. That line about confederate currency is still my favorite line in any Punk video to date.

I don't understand why people say that the store owner's an asshole, when he's just acting that way for the sake of this video. If I'm not mistaken, his name is Ian, and is the guy who appears in Pat's podcasts (as someone else in the comments already mentioned). In other words, he's a nice guy!

This was my first watch of the video and I didnt even realise that was Ian. I've only just become a fan of Pat's after watching most of Completely Unnecessary Podcast with Ian and I think anyone watching needs to remember Ian is just acting here. He is an awesome guy and good friends with Pat.

I Buy Caltron today only for 8 dlls (no joke) but when i put in My classic nes the screen flash like in your vídeo, theres other way for play the cardtridge? I mover the switch and clean the pcb pins but it's the same, only flash in the menú screen

I had it too. The one with the BS label on it as my aunt worked for some company that exported electronics to Brasil in the 90's. Long story short, I left it at my grandmothers house and to my knowledge she threw it out =/

if you remember properly, when avgn reviewed adam and eve, he was talking about the caltron 6 in 1. he even showed a bit of footage for each game before talking about adam and eve.

Hey, Pat, if you're having trouble with getting games around the lockout chip, you have 1 of 2 options. 1) Just use the Top Loader. It was made without the lockout chip, so it'll play anything. 2) This one's a little bit time consuming, but it'll save you a ton of headaches later on: Open up the NES to reveal the entire circuit board, from there find the small chip that reads "Nintendo". That's the lockout chip, counting from left-to-right, find and cut pin number 4, that'll disable the lockout

Fun Fact: the Alladin game is on the Power Joy famicom cart. its a chinese bootleg cart that was used for one of those N64 shaped controller tv games called Power Joy. I'm not sure if any other Caltron games are on it but I have it playin on my TV

Luna Video Games is a totally awesome store. Those of us who live in San Diego are lucky to have such a store. It's great to goto a video game store and not be asked "Would you like to preorder anything today?"

Its crazy to watch their pod cast now and see how fat we all get as we age.

Aw, Luna Games was 30 minutes from where I lived, and I never went before I moved. :( Good to see them featured here.

I actually have Cosmos Cop on a multicart game called Super Games 500 in 1, which my parents got me for Christmas. Don't get me wrong, it has good games too, like the Ninja turtles games, elevator action, all the NES black box games, even Famicom games such as an old RPG called "the adventure of Valkyrie: the legend of The key of time."

I have a 1650 in 1 Cart from I believe Malaysia... It has a ton of crazy variations of games on it! makes it really interesting! got it in 1992... still have it... its amazing!
