Calories In vs. Calories Out?

Спорт

We’ve heard this one for years: That losing weight is merely about calories in and calories out.
So theoretically, it doesn’t matter WHAT you eat as long as you burn off more calories through exercise.
Well, let me tell you, I’ve had clients that run 10 miles a day and can’t lose weight. I’ve seen men who hit the gym five times a week and can’t lose the beer gut. It’s NOT about calories: It’s about what foods you’re putting into your body. Exercise can help, as long as you’re eating the right foods, but you don’t need to kill yourself every day with 2-hour workouts.
Something terrible happens when you severely restrict your diet... Find out everything you need to know by watching this video.

Hi Eliz, I saw your lecture on "Calories In - vs - Calories Out" What you shared makes a lot of sense. I just recently realized that I'm in terrible condition, meaning completely out of shape. The worst part of my realization is I'm a 55 year old with a pot belly that will not go away. Over the years I was so busy with life. I forgot a very import thing. Which is I need to take care of myself. It funny how I though that dieting and sweating was how you best lose weight or calories. I was completely wrong about that. The only thing that did was put my body into starvation mode as you explained and depleted me from all those vital electrolytes. So I winded up with skinny arm, skinny chest, Skinny legs, a skinny chest and a pot belly stomach. Of course I paid a price for dehydrating myself and my belly seems to be swelling with fat like never before. The good thing is I sort of understand it now. By dieting I put myself into starvation mode. I'm presently dealing with fatigue which I think was induced by the diet. Never the less I'll be good soon enough.

idk about this. I cut calories and lost weight then I couldn't loose anymore so I went higher I increased my calories because my workout program calculated that I needed to eat more. for the first week I lost then I gained weight. so finally after a month of wondering what was going then I decreased calories and finally I'm loosing weight so. I'm not sure I'm buying this.

If I remember right, Eliz says in the video that a lot depends on where you are starting from. I know that for myself, I make dietary changes slowly and find sustainable lifestyle choices. When I make drastic changes, my body will react in a way that might surprise me, but I think it's doing its best to heal whatever is out of balance at the time. Our bodies will each react differently to any given dietary change, largely b/c we are all starting from a different point in our health journey. Listen to what your body is telling you. It's giving you clues all the time and letting you know what it needs.

Continued: I'm gong to re-think my whole journey back to health. As you mentioned its a life style. So for me that means I have a lot of habit to change from bad to good. I'm looking everywhere and asking everyone for advices on the subject. This includes reading books. So I hope you do not mind me subscribing to your KZread Channel a making comments which are more likely question? Like what should I be eating and how intense should my workout be. I have to remember that I'm and old man and recovery might take longer. So another question is what do you think about supplements as in vitamins, as well as supplements like Nugenix?

Because you are undereating. Your body can not function properly with that amount of calorie. Probably you don't even eat enough to reach basal metabolic intake. Basal metabolic intake is amount of calorie to just keep you alive. Your body doesn't burn fat actually it stores fat because it is in starvation mode. You should start eating properly and exercise moderately about thirty minutes every other day. Heavy exercise won't help in your situation. I promise you that you will loose weight if you apply these things. Also you should consider adopting a vegan diet. It is the best thing for your health and environment. Dr. Mcdougall has really great information about this topic. You can check his website and KZread channel. Channels like : that vegan couple, mr and mrs vegan, freele the banana girl, banana tv, vegan corner can help you with transitioning into a vegan lifestyle. You should be patient for the results and don't forget that this is a long journey.
