Agreed - people also forget that the week before the "Director of Football" was in Italy in a panic offering £400k a week to Rabiot to join and agreeing a fee for Arnautovic that the fan outrage boycotted before panicking to sign Casemiro and Antony hence having to pay giant fees. The Athletic reported that Ten Hag was told he only had a certain budget left and Man Utd suddenly found extra money in a panic at the end of the window that if told was there at the beginning of the window he would have spent it a lot differently. Another quote from the same article "For the last decade Utd have only seriously thought about the summer transfer window when it opens and try to fit 12 months work into 3 months". Proceeding to then blame the manager for everything and say that it's his fault he signs players he's worked with. Waiting until the end of the window then basically saying to a manager "we've got no targets and done no due diligence, who maybe able to do the role you asked us to scout?". Long before Ten Hag, Man Utd have been operating on transfers like the person who heads out at 4pm on Christmas Eve to try and do all their shopping and ends up spanking tonnes of cash on bullshit. I don't mind the criticism of the game management, subs, results - totally get it. But it's the endless rolling up ALL the problems on Ten Hag you can see Talksport start to suggest Man Utd have injuries as their 'source' indicated that Ten Hag likes to do the player surgeries himself as well. You need context and the full story into the signing of Anthony, Casemiro, Evans, Ambrabat….all headlines and no story… if only Simon could integrate nuance into his arguments he would be a better broadcaster

Last season no one would argue we were making big progress, this season injuries, players losing form and off the field issues have effectively sabotaged the whole season. This squad needed a real overhaul when they lost the Europa final under Ole, that was the end of the cycle for many of these players but they are still here.

Sack another manager after a season with 65 different injuries and 35 different back 4 combinations , what msg are you sending to the players... Everyone is saying Ten hag is the worst coach after post-fergie..no he's not its getting worse and worse by every manager we sack

Apart from a few poor performances against Brentford and Liverpool, Martinez was among the best CBs in the league last season before getting injured. He and Antony both could have been bought cheaper if the club were proactive and bought them at the start of the window. ETH wanted D Nunez, they were too slow to go get him. The same thing happened with Gakpo the following January. Further, it's too much work for one man to scout and analyse potential signings whilst also coaching the team. It's not about the money, it's about the ppl in charge of spending it. That's an area the glazers never cared about, hopefully INEOS will 🤞

Rebuild a team is not a moment but several years. The key is the club started to rebuild the management, parallel the players will removed who can not form a team. We can speak about trainer just after if it needed.

EtH has had 2yrs at the club and they still put out a performance like that. Its not about missing players. All that means is that those who come in because others are injured etc, might be a little lacking in the skill/quality side, but NOT in terms of effort and intent. No matter what side a manager sends out, there needs to be cohesion in working to a game plan and then at least ATTEMPTING to carry that plan out. Irrespective of who tH sends out, we get the same disorganised mess time and time again.
