I just love Shepherd as a character. The things he says seem all so true, i.e. ''We don't kill civilians, we use precision'', or ''We can't give you freedom, but we can give you the know-how to obtain it.'' The way he explains how America does things is great to me. He may've used Price and Soap, and killed Ghost and Roach, but that doesn't mean he didn't say some true things. A great and amazing character that Infinity Ward created.

innovation curve peaked. black and white >> color >> 2D >> 3D >> HD. hasn't been a tech jump since the ps3/xbox360 era, just better graphics with the same mechanics. Tech jumps bring new design choices, new mechanics and types of games to make so devs get extremely excited and hyped creatively making whatever. Eventually a formula's made and the tech either progresses even further to restart the cycle (which it didn't) or you stay making the same shit over and over but this time the devs aren't excited making a 80% similar product to their last. Shit then becomes formulaic, it's easier for regular people who aren't interested in the industry to slowly warm up over a decade + of seeing the same thing and push for more basic / cookie cutter and safe versions of the same shit which companies love pandering too because the more general = more money. Main reason pandering and playing politics (which has taken over EVERY art form now since mid 2010s) matters more to a games success than actually making a good product. The industries dead, might get 1 - 2 dozen good and innovative games every decade but there will never be another another golden age unless VR picks up and allows easier entry + game innovation. Same shit happens with every art form. Music, film, painting etc
Probably the best opening to any call of duty game

And here I am, thinking we'd won. But you bring down one enemy and they find someone even worse to replace him. Locations change, the rationale, the objective. Yesterday's enemies are today's recruits. Train them to fight alongside you, and pray they don't eventually decide to hate you for it too. Same ♥♥♥♥, different day. This just goes to show how out of tune Activision is with its community, this shows that the fans would love an ultimate Call of Duty type of game. Honestly, we've recently started playing Call of Duty Mobile and it was fun but also addicting. The fact that it was a Call of Duty with maps and weapons from across all Call of Duty's, I honestly think its the way they should go especially since they're so negligent towards Multiplayer now in favour of Warzone.
General Shepherd was right... All along
The OGs will always be better than the reboots
Lance Henriksen killed it in the voiceover role. He made Shepherd real, and hateable.
history is written by the victor. history is filled with liars.
This intro is almost 15 years old but gets more accurate with the day: "But you take down one enemy and they find someone even worse to replace him": The war against ISIL and other terrorist groups and the elimination of Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi "Yesterdays enemy's are todays recruits, train them to fight alongside you and pray they don't hate you": Japan/USA relationship, Russia/Georgia relationsship "The more things chance the more they stay the same": War on terror, and the fight with Russia. After 9/11 the world changed for good but the war with Russia stays the same as it was before. :"Boundaries shift, new players step in, but power always finds a place to rest its head" - The Israelian conflict in Gaza between Israel and the Hamas "Locations change, the rational, the objective" - The attacks on Paris in 2015, manchester 2017 and the responses against it. From fighting in France in ww2 to Korea to Vietnam to Middle east and to Nigeria.

@sushimuncher282
2 жыл бұрын
It's the perfect excuse. An enlisted with mad skills. Use 'em up and toss 'em away. An enlisted PFC is easier to renounce and decline officially as "oh, he's just some soldier gone rogue and got caught in a bad deal", where as an officer would ring some bells - "This guy is an officer, he should at least have some contingency plan, this is intentional." Remember, Shepherd's endgame was to start a war with Russia and be remembered as a hero for winning a war he designed. What he didn't account for was his failure to tie up the loose end that was Price. There's a subtle detail when you didn't hear Shepherd's immediate input when Price/Soap decides to split and raid 2 different locations. That's one of the tip off that Shepherd has an ulterior motive, while trying to process what he should do next, since the 141 was now split, and he couldn't tag them all in one location. He planned on using Price as a weapon against Makarov, given their rivalries. But he only realized too late that Price was not someone he could simply control like McTavish or any other operators that were kept in the dark.
Ahh yes, an e5 talking to an 03
