I love your characters, they’re fun without breaking the atmosphere. And in general I love how unselfish all of your roleplay is - - nobody hogs a scene, or stalls the game hostage for jokes or an optimal outcome, or called bs on the DM (I would have at the bricked up door). I love this channel and appreciate you guys.

I ADORE the fact that Simon has a more intermediate understanding of the mythos to make the point about Lyds seeing THE FACE OF A FUCKING GOD and getting away fairly scott free. Adored this series. Properly spooky, soooo excited for post game chat!!!

The way he does the instros just draws me into a differrent world

Holy crap this campaign had to be the best one yet, the sheer atmosphere that they set with the roleplay and Tom's narration is superb. I actually can't wait for the next series. Especially the next Call of Cthulhu whenever it is, where Maggy casually comes face to face with another god and just admits they're aren't her first lmao.

Mystery Quest: Among top 1 gifts you can find online. Also SPOILER alert . . . . . . Lydia surviving seeing Azatoth is so on brand for her lmao

Before this, If you had asked me who would be the best new yog for TTRPGs, I would never have said lydia - and I am very happy to be wrong.

I'm relieved that the crew survived; this was certainly the spookiest Call of Cthulhu game you've played to date. The subtle sound effects incorporated really elevates the tension and drama. Can't wait for the next week's new Mystery Quest!

Harry coming in clutch by just asking to read the journal on the way to let the demon out.

So just to clarify. The demon actually faked the whole banishment ritual with the chalk drawings, and even the dark haired creature was just one of the illusions it called forth, all to get them to break one of the statues keeping it prisoner in the house?

@@animewarrior3 Funnily enough the Shapeless one also has a plan for if the players refuse to do anything. That plan being either brick over the windows and doors and remove the npcs, letting the players stumble around on their own, or threaten the players into helping. I ran this scenario with a group recently and they fell for the whole demon story. Ended up releasing the Shapeless one into the world.

Applause for the sound effects in this series, really captured the vibes and made it so much more interesting and vivid.

You read through the comments while the advert plays above, unheeded. You see references to Azathoth, the blind idiot. Lyrics come to mind, songs about unspeakable horrors and ancient gods, growled by a bearded man. But you're not listening to Crawling chaos by Dunsmuir. You can't hear Neil Fallon. Have you been bewitched by the elder gods, or are you on a MYSTERY QUEST?

this has been my favourite mystery quest series. the horror vibe in this was amazing and actually scary at times, which can be difficult to get across in a ttrpg, but tom kept the tension going throughout. loved it.

I love that Simon just doesn't take himself too seriously. The whole "diggy diggy hole man" thing sends me to laughing fits.

Holy... this story had it all. Absolutely epic story and a fantastic performance from all involved! Massive respect for keeping the high standards throughout. Tom is great as DM, everyone has great characters that they play well and the added special effects are just the icing on the cake. Can we also just take a moment and take in that Lydia, formerly known as she-who-cannot-roll-for-toffee, rolled a 7 when Maggie was faced with the unknowable and survived having her mind melted by coming face to face with an Elder God. I have never rooted harder for a dice to be kind. Maggie is a badass.

I had to google what Saturnine meant cause I've never heard the word and suddenly the notes left by Victoria made a lot more sense now.

You can’t hold it any longer. You desperately need to take a piss. But Jonathan just won’t stop jabbering on about his mom that recently passed. You try ignoring him, looking around for the nearest toilet. You see it, but, there’s not enough time. And god damn Jonathan is responsible for what’s happening. Another Magnificent Mystery Quest by Tom! But, it wouldn't be complete without such a lovely and committed cast: Lydia, Simon, Ravs, and Harry. Great job once again!

My favorite series from you guys so far, and that's saying something. Props to the whole party for playing their characters fantastically, especially Lydia, Maggie's definitely a favorite character.

"Your soul flies to the center of the universe" was the scariest thing said this episode since there is no center of the universe ^^'

My first CoC game a player had to take 1d100 for seeing Ithaqua. She rolled a one. Everyone who passed ended up taking more. Geeat times.

When I ran The Two Headed Serpent one of the funnier bits was someone miraculously surviving a certain monster exploding for d100 damage, and only rolling a 4

As a theology scholar this is kinda neat. The four statues make up the tetramorph of the four evangelists- Ox is the Gospel of Luke, Lion is Mark, Man is Matthew, Eagle is John~ Also lots of the watchtower angels and other Abrahamic-esoteric themes goin on

Awesome finale. Terrifying enemy, to rip memories from your head, corrode your mind, and then immediately twist those memories against you.... Super well done to all the players -- amazing roleplay, great character interactions, and commitment to the roles. And as always congrats to Tom: for storytelling, world-building, spooking, and the INTENSE performance as the demon. Super pleased to get to see all this and support this amazing bunch of people.

So maggie basically saw Asathoth, understood it was Asathoth but rolled low enough to not go completely insane so she probably either saw a small part of Asathoth, kinda blinked out of reality while witnessing him or merely is just built different

I've never laughed so hard at a Cthulhu game. This was wildly entertaining. Can't wait to catch more of these players.

That was great! Rav's character really shined through the whole series too. Also, I think they got just about as good of an ending as you can get in Call of Cthulhu which is pretty cool, though I wonder if they are able to regain those stats overtime as a loss of like 60 intelligence points collectively has gotta sting

I was absolutely blown away, most Call of Cthulhu games I've seen always have a surprise second bit or a fake-out ending, and the bricks still showing up even after ritual definitely left me with a mixture of shock and horror not knowing what else they could do. Amazing game as always! I hope we get to see more Call of Cthulhu in the future, especially with the hilarious Maggie!

I have a feeling Azathoth is Tom's favorite of the Outer Gods, if not the whole mythos since this is tbe second time he's picked it as the god to feature

So Dickie died 8 years ago so Maggie losing the memory of Dickie’s death, she’d basically just think Dickie just hasn’t showed up in 8 years after the war. At least until she got that memory back from people telling her and her probably finding the telegram because im sure she kept it

I love seeing this crew together! Huge result! the Call of Cthulhu is iconic with Tom, but for me, get the group playing edge of the empire/ age of rebellion/force and destiny (SWRPG). That would be my preference, though, any system Tom has passion for is great! Loved Mork Borg too! Spoiler (Azathoth reminded me of Donnie and the Grizwald's, The piping straight a way was a nice nod to the original games!)

My favourite bit was "alright grow up. No, the wand starts thrusting"

It's Christmas eve... your parents warned you about staying up in the middle of the night on Xmas eve- but you never listened. You lay awake in your bed listening, waiting, and then you hear it- sleigh bells and heavy footsteps. You scramble downstairs to the fireplace, hoping to see the holly jolly saint of legend! What you discover, isn't Santa or elf- but the demon of the holidays Krampus! You dart behind the stairway, but you fear it's too late, you hear footsteps slowly making their way to you. Is this the end? Will you be captured in Krampus sack and taken to his unholly and nomerry shack? Or are you on a... MYSTERY QUEST????

I'm blown away by the quality of these. Amazing work by everyone. The writers of the quest, Tom's treatment of it and his sensibilities around crafting a good story, the really tasteful sound and effect work, and all of the players getting into it. Lydia has been fantastic with her roleplaying and improvisation of Maggie. Definitely my favorite channel right now.
