    I recently downloaded my very first few mfk calls. For the first time ever I called coyotes on consecutive stands and have shot coyotes on 3 of my last 4 stands! Pound town has brought coyotes in every single time!!! I had a stand 2 weeks ago where I called 6 coyotes out of a pine Grove. Shot 2, missed 1, and didn't get shots on a couple others. THEN played pound town and had 4 more coyotes come BACK after all of that shooting. It's incredible! Thank you so much. That sound alone is just CRAZY!

    Thanks to you Torry, not only have I sharpened my hunting skills, but my knowledge of these animals has broadened a lot. I go back a lot and watch a lot of the older episodes. This helps, because you or the one of the mfk crew will explain the approach or exactly what you guys did on that hunt. You have taken it above and beyond just hunting coyotes. Hats off to you sir, thank you for continuously educating us about this passion that we all dearly love and enjoy. Any chance you could do a future episode on approaches to stands and how to pick the best stand?

    Your channel has helped me out immensely over the past year or so i've been following, I hunt in southern ontario and sneaking into the thickets with shotgun where i've heard them howling the night before, one or two lone howls followed by a greeting howl almost always seems to trigger a vocal response and they come in quick. When I used to hunt coyotes seriously using Crittr' calls.. I always had good luck with pup sounds.. Always.. I also used to have a cassette player back in the day with a line out speaker I would use and I used pup sounds in it and always again had good luck.. I even remember laughing about a tape that had chickens under attack sounds.. Howls and pup sounds were always good for me.. Great video's sir and thanks again! Tim

    Howdy! I belong to a future production group! We are working on an animated feature involving a hunter and coyotes and would like for an interview asap to gain perspective concerning your field of work (most likely during the weekdays) We want to discontinue the age old perspective that hunters are just merciless, animal-hating people, and would like to give them proper representation! Please respond whenever you can!

    As a wildlife photographer and lover of coyotes, your videos are super informative. It’s hard for me as a guy who put down the gun and picked up a camera though to see the scenes where they are killed. My question to you as a hunter / outdoorsman is what do you do with the coyotes you shoot? In my area, they are hated and shot for no other reason than that. The other thing I wondered is with regards to there being no season on them. When you shoot and kill a female coyote during pup rearing season (when they are still on her milk), don’t they all die in the den? I know by asking questions here, I’ll get a ton of flak but you seem to be very level headed and super knowledgeable when it comes to everything coyote. Cheers!

Best in the business, even better then national geographic. Thank you for the hard work.. I have a question, I may have missed it in the video, but I wondered since its pup distress do the coyotes usually come in down wind of the call, or do they throw caution in the wind and come straight in?

    Thanks! Can’t beat feedback like that. We appreciate it. Coyotes always have a tendency to circle downwind of it’s easy for them to do but when you setup close to them with the setup in your favor in relation to where you expect them to be they will often come straight to the call. What a GREAT information filled video... this is the best one I've seen yet... and the pirouette with the 2nd headshot on that lead coyote was prime time freakin' awesome. I must've rewound the video 6 times to watch and listen to it over and over again... Rub the pups noses together a little bit... I am curious to see how aggressive they are and see what it takes and especially how long doing that nosing them together thing it takes to get them agitated enough to get them riled up enough to fight each other and then record them fighting... is it gonna be on like Donkey Kong in literally only like 1 second after nosing them together??? Or will it take 5 or 10 seconds after you start facing them off??? I want to see & hear the pups fighting each other more... that's awesome and when the loser really starts yelling out in pain, and just keeps on and DOESN'T stop hollering... like if the winner just keeps on maiming it and won't quit attacking the loser, that's ğýýREALLY when I have the adults coming in fast to make sure the one that's dominant doesn't kill or seriously injured the little runty pups... they come running sure enough... Thank you sir. Now off to the MFK website to buy some stuff... it's my pleasure to help you pay for your misc. living expenses. I have decimated the coyotes around here and that's a GREAT thing to have a problem with... all the thanks go to MFK... Pre She Ate Cha !!!

    Thanks! As always we appreciate you watching & the feedback. That spinner was awesome! As for the pups they fight often. No need to rub noses or square them off. Just watch them for a few mins & a fight will break out. The fights are vicious & aggressive but usually short. As soon as one submits & quits the other will usually just pin it down & stand over it. I already have several fights uploaded. You can see them throughout the All About Coyotes series episodes. It’s rare for serious injuries to occur during the fights but I have witnessed a couple. Thanks again, I have no doubt you’ll put those new sounds to work making piles! 💪🏼👊🏼

Called them with pup sounds upon arrival and took one with thermal scoped 6.5 Grendel @ 130 yards quartering away at a trot and the other at 274 yards quartering away at a lope. I measured them with the gps on my Huntstand app. Took a picture to send in to GON Magazine for my May entry into their 9th annual coyote cull contest and going to bed... Mission accomplished... goat cheese is now still safe. Thanks for your in-depth help once again... It's REALLY effective... just ask those 2 coyotes from tonight!!! Oh, nevermind they are dead....lololol

    I love the videos been watching the killing videos for a while. But I'd love to see some very specific instruction on how long a call should be active on my e caller. For example, should I play it for 1 minute? Or less? And then wait 3 to 4 minutes? Usually I'll let it howl twice or three times then sit silent. Is this correct?

    Thanks! Glad you like our channel. Appreciate you watching & the feedback. There’s no specific time frame for running sounds. I run my howls through one full sequence then pause for as short or as long as I’d like (usually 2-5 mins). When running other sounds I typically play them 1-4 mins then switch to another sound. You can go directly to the next sound with no breaks or wait a few mins if you’d like. I do it both ways with success. Hope that helps. Thanks again.

    Yessir. Adult coyotes will kill & eat the pups of others. That said, & although it’s rare they’ve also been known to take over dens that already have pups & raise both litters. I know of 2 documented cases from radio collared coyotes. Thanks, glad you like it & appreciate you using MFK. Do rendezvous areas or den sites smell like piss and death? Reason I ask is because I called in 2 pups and killed 1. I judged them to be 8-9 weeks old. They were on a creek bank by a big tree at the edge of the creek bank and upon further inspection I could see where they have wore the bank slick walking it and around the base of the tree they were no leaves and it was worn slick. I could see where they have been going under the creek bank back into the trees roots. Also about 75 yards up the hill I saw a leg of a dead fawn and a jaw bone, they were also a small dirt mound beside the fawn and it looked like the coyotes were rubbing on that mound of dirt, maybe an old fire ant hill because it was worn slick. They were also a old plastic 1 liter bottle the were chewing on. I thought all of that was pretty cool to see. Now I’ve covered a lot of ground locating the past few weeks and these are the first vocal pups I’ve heard all year. Seems like the majority of the coyotes in my area aren’t too talkative right now other than this group. P.S I did kill the adult female out of this group over a week ago, I could tell she still had milk in her.

  • @tccustomcalls

    @tccustomcalls

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes, it can stink around den sites but once they move to rendezvous areas they’re usually spread out enough you wouldn’t notice it. What you describe sounds like a den site with pups that were active in a small area outside the den and hadn’t moved to a rearing area yet. What you describe vocally is also common right now with only the earliest born pups & family groups being vocal. Over the next few weeks the vocals will gradually pick up & then peek July-August. Congrats on the kills! Keep hurting em & thanks for watching.
