This, I remember, song was the first that the radio played of Blondie, as their earlier songs the radio station was not for punk and this was deep southern country in Tennessee was not a thing then. This was the theme to the 1980 film American Gigolo, as a single # 1 for six consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it became the band's biggest single and second # 1. Sina, I see you played the Blondie part by wearing a pullover, not T or jeans and socks & shoes (not barefooted or shoes). Great, way to go, with no headphones too, really rocked this song on the drums, wonderful playing taking me back to my early 20s.

Wow - great! In my teens, my friend who really developed his drumming skills into something, always took me to listen to Blondie, and also some group Telegram, for their nice beats and all. (Have to re-visit them after this) But now we are also happy to see you're good and how sweet to share your beach-splash-clips from the holiday there on the left in the oldschool tv, haha!! But you didn't bathe the Ukulele this time :-))) - OK Serious again: Great listening and break a few legs for the next shows on your agenda! I was heading for Köln, but my work won't give me that freedom (huh? Kölner dom? What?) , soooooo maybe April 2023 in Stockholm... That is very far away! Hey(!) one more thing - big big luck in the new boat when you get back there!

Full marks for Sina for such great covers. I'd love to see a world where such a great performer gets at least a small portion of the youtube revenue they generate for the copyright holder. If I published a hit song and an artist as talented and selfless as Sina covered it, I would share the income with her. Sorry I never had that success. Sina's covers have generated hundreds of millions of views for the authors. RESPECT and ADMIRATION! ...I sorely miss her drum cover of Juke Box Hero in the USA :(

Hi 👋 Sina, I’m happy to watch and listen to a new video. Nice song and great drumming. I’ve listened to this song so many times but I’ve never really paid attention to its rhythm section, probably. And it’s rather cool. You’re always able to put an accent on it with your talent, your art, your dedication and ability. Your artistic growth has never stopped and I think it’s going on to take you very far within that world. I didn’t listen your “go for a ride” cover, yet, because I was out for a (long motorbike) ride and I smiled a little bit when I saw your video title. I want to save it for a peaceful moment, just to listen to it in the way that it deserves. Have a nice weekend.

Excellent performance and very interesting approach. Given the alternating 8th notes on the hi-hat I’ve always thought match grip would be the easiest approach but you stayed with traditional grip. You also flipped the sequence from the way Clem played opting for RLRL so the snare hits on 2 and 4 are played by your left hand. I get totally crossed up trying to do this. Amazing! 🤘

Hi Sina, Well girl once again you have come through with another expertly covered hit from the early 80's and this one I believe is Debbie's original version from 1980 as there were two more versions that followed, both in 1981one running 4:44 mins. and a third taking nearly 8 and a half mins., but which ever version, I watched very carefully at your drumming technique and I could see that it is by no means an easy drum track to cover! The movement of your left hand from the high-hat to the snare and back again through-out the song is something this old fart wouldn't last a second at and you beautifully made it look like child's play once again proving that you are without any doubt "THE BEST"And on top of everything else how nice that it's posted on August 11, 2022 my 74th Birthday. Now I know that the timing was purely coincidental but it sure made my day!!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS OLD MAN'S DAY SEEM SPECIALENJOY YOUR WEEKEND AND KNOCK'EM DEAD AT YOUR NEXT CONCERT"LOVE YA"

“American Gigolo” is one of my favorite movies. Such notes as the costumes, art direction and music - especially this song - heralded the end of 1970s style sense and the dawn of the techno, color-filled aesthetic of the 1980s.

Nice song! Had a neighborhood friend back in those days; his sister Beverly dated one of the band members. I think it was 1 of the guitar players. I was about 14 at the time. Used to watch him or his limo pick her up. I asked my friend where she goes; he said places like Studio 54 when he came to get her, or whatever venue they were playing at the time when a limo picked her up. This lady was drop-dead gorgeous. My friend was unimpressed. We were about 14 maybe? She was mid-20's. So they weren't close age-wise to have much in common. I was just wowed every Friday evening watching her leave. I was in my very early twenties when Blondie were doing their stuff. This one, Hanging on telephone line and for some bizarre reason The tide is high were my favourites. I say bizarre because I could never get away and still can't with reggae. Interesting for me as a non musician to hear the outro. To identify the rhythm and how the drums and cymbals combine. Sometimes it's nothing like the rhythm I hear in the finished song. 😄

Wow, what an amazing job! I think the drummer for blondie is criminally underrated! He has great skill when it comes to playing offbeat especially with the hi-hat. You can really notice it in "Heart of Glass". Keep up the amazing work! I learned to play the drums in 4th grade and played until I was 21 yrs old. I had a work accident which limited the use of my right arm and I never got back into it. I'm 34 now and lately have been wanting to get back into it, and watching your videos inspires me to do it!

Your way, Clem's way, it's all good. Glad this was able to be covered by you and released this time. Happy your back safe & sound from holiday and ready to get back to Rock the Opera. Looking forward to your next chapter as always. Thanks, Sina and Pops.

I've always wanted to learn to play drums. (But I am too uncoordinated.) The drums have always been my favorite part of this song. Thanks for showing how it's done!

Yes. I love dancing in the morning to the best musicians. Yesterday I danced to Bach; well not Bach but couldn't spell Beeth__ 's 5th. Anyway you're equal to great music heavies like...Moon, Hal Blane, Armstrong, chu Berry, John Coltraine, and yes - all the spirit the three Bs bring to our little torn up pebble in the sky. Thank you.

I did not realize until now that this is the coolest groove. it's the hi hat touch that's so cool. You can't have a good creative drummer without a great song. It takes the right chemistry to bring out the feel good energy that makes you enjoy and play your ass off.

Emmerich

Dear Kevin, I know there is a lot of work hours in a 'drum cover'. Sina spends a lot of time on her. And think about it: maybe it's not a bit boring if someone listens to a song many times? This is very wonderful from him. Therefore very big thanks and praise for Sina! By Imre

Best of Blondie totally done justice. Not only Sina playing with force and precision (how else?) but also the video settings. When this song came out black and white TVs were still common but slowly being edged out by color sets as prices came down. Always great to see the classics brought to life with such life and innovation.

I continue to get immense enjoyment watching Sina play. The way she handles the bass pedals, the smoothness of her moves to the various drums and cymbals. She's one helluva drummer. Not being a drummer, I don't know how technically difficult her covers are, but from my seat in the peanut gallery, many look quite challenging. Keep it up, Sina, you're amazing.
