Call for constitution to be amended

Some political parties have called for the constitution to be amended
to accommodate items such as bringing back the death penalty and
accommodating independent states within the republic.
Abantu Batho Congress president Philani Mavundla and African People's
Convention leader Themba Godi discuss this further.
Tune into Newzroom Afrika DStv channel 405 for more.

A very important conversation indeed it's quite sad that when we talk of self determination everybody calls us tribalists, it is imperative that everybody understands that this is not about growing the organization to a national level but the catch is every president is "bought" to become some else's puppet. So to be free Will mean saving a provin ce the rest will follow later in Abc we trust 💚💚 ✊🏾 phambili Mr Mavundla 💚✊🏾

Each household manages its affairs exclusively but it is still part of the community nd province nd country ,nd nobody acuses the household of being tribalists so this idea needs to be researched thoroughly instead of being dismissed out of hand there may be merit here.

In South Africa there isn't a law requiring citizens to carry their national ID cards with them all the time, but most do carry it as a social norm. It's imperative that legislation is promulgated to compell everybody to carry identity documents with them. Reasons: 1. Good governance 2. Citizen education. 3. Prevention of crime 4. Medical emergencies. 5. Reduce unidentfied kadavers in mortuaries. And many more! Police must check identities at roadstops. They must ask you to show your ID whether you are in your own vehicle or using public transport. In big cities, police officers must be roaming the streets and stop people randomly to check on IDs. When a police officer is checking your ID he must verify, on a database, whether you have any arrest warrants, felonies to pay, or any sort of legal issues you need to sort out. In case you are not carrying your national ID with you, you can show a copy of it, your passport, or your driver’s license. If none, the police officers must take you to the police station to verify your ID. Why wouldn't individuals want to carry his /her identity papers on person at all times? Same as removing car registration numbers ... for nefarious reasons? All the political parties that lobby AGAINST foreigners should rather endeavour to stop ALL faceless people from floating anonymous through SA by introducing compulsary identification, everywhere and at all times.

@@shafiyaalgiquadra1105 The Dutch is as much as settler as the Bantu. South Africa is the most unequal country world because the poor has been left behind by the ANC government for the past 30 years. We have had maybe 1% growth in the last 10 years and jobs have been steadily declining. As an example, just look at the Shell debacle; the BBBEE partner was Thebe Investment Company; who is owned by Batho Batho Trust (BBT) of who the ANC (and tripartheid alliance partners) are the ONLY beneficiaries. BBT was one of the biggest donors to the ANC and is but one such avenue. Excuse me if I am wrong; but I thought BBBEE was a necessary racist law to help uplift those who were left behind by the previous dispensation; not a vehicle for the black elites to enrich themselves? Doesn’t that sound quite a lot like the bourgeoisie the ANC and SACP are always talking about? And what about the job losses if / when Shell pulls out of South Africa, just because the ANC wants more money for themselves? Haibo - honestly, I think it is time ALL South Africans see ALL other South Africans as equal human beings! I believe we can flourish together so long as everyone has place to call their own where they are free to be taught in their own home language, hence why I say what I am saying.

So land must not be viewed as a commodity to be traded between individuals.......wow, so we plan to magically make land an infinite resource?! The whole reason it is called TRADE is because it is people swopping more of/less of a given commodity, precisely because the given quantity is LIMITED. To think otherwise is so incredibly daft. I know that this comment will be read by no-one and understood by even fewer. Oh well.

In Africa there is no private ownership of land. The idea of one man owning land and others considered as peasants, is a European fallacy, that has produced inequality and poverty.... In Africa land is owned by a king on behalf of the people. This allows people to access land for usage , not for private ownership...Then you can farm on the land and trade with agricultural products not with land...

@@senzomemela1311 hmnnn, and that's worked so well for Africa...this myth that in Africa, there were no wars over land before Europeans arrived. Africa was a never ending story of conquest between tribes over land! Listen man, land is a LIMITED RESOURCE! And if you want to go back to being ruled over by a King, well, good luck to you. What you have just described as your ideal 'African model' of land ownership IS FEUDALISM!!! We agree that Feudalism was bad-feudalism was FINISHED in Western Europe by the late 15th century!! And the thing that finished it was....THE FREE MARKET! Look man, economically, the whole point of ownership of ANYTHING is because things are LIMITED. No amount of ideology is going to somehow increase supply. If land is owned by a King, how will it be decided who gets the most and who gets the best land? Historically, this model of allocation of resources has not worked well, regardless of culture that has tried it.
