Awesome. That Bodie Road has gotten really bad over past few years between the thunderstorms and the intense winters. Look up Mt. Paterson and Log Cabin Mine next time you're down that way. Both are really worth the trip if you don't mind some crazy climbing here and there, on roads that are fairly gnarly. Thanks for the great video.

Nice video man, excellent editing. Those creek sections looked pretty rough, but you handled em like a champ. If you're riding in weather like that often, you might consider some Hippo Hands. I just got some. Haven't been able to try em out yet. Glad to see you made it back to the vehicle safely.

@@dantheman4life Hi. I’m in Minnesota, and I retired last June. I love bikes. One of sons lives in Prescott Arizona. I’ve taken a couple road trips to drive out to see him. The first time I stayed in Ouray Colorado for a day. The bike activity around there got me interested in off road. Last Fall i visited him again and when I drove home I went straight up through Utah and got my first look at that area, including Moab, and I drove through the Black Hills area too. I am thinking of trailering a bike out there and doing some exploring. Looks like you’ve ridden in a few of the areas I’m interested in for me. That’s probably why your videos resonate with me. I had a couple dual sports and I still have a Tiger 800. And I like photography too (pics, videos, and drones). Keep having fun out there. You come across like a pretty cool guy. Also, if you have not already seen him, you might like a KZread guy named Brock Gill. He’s posted some good bike videos this past year and he’s also very charismatic. Mike

Ahh, the land of 10,000 lakes! It's a beautiful state, and I hope to ride in someday. That section of Colorado is incredible. I recently did the Apline loop, but I'm still determining if I'll make a video out of it. Moab is the offroad mecca, and the Black Hills is great too! If you have time, loading the bike on a trailer and checking out those spots would be a great idea! I wish you good luck with the rides, and I'll be sure to check out Brock's channel. Ride safe!

Awesome video Dan. Thanks for sharing. I was looking at doing that route from Nevada down to Bodie this spring (May). Do you think that road through the canyon will still be washed out? Suggestions on an alternate way from ~Aurora to Bridgeport?

  • @dantheman4life

I don't think they will have Bodie Rd east of the park taken care of by then. With so many roads like this impacted by the storms last year I would be shocked if it was. What type of bike will you be riding? Are you talking about Aurora south of Sacromento? If so you could always take 120 once it all opens up. Tons of great dirt roads once you are on that side of the mountain.
