Extraordinary railroad train museum, feeling nostalgic again seeing those vintage photos. The train cabin looks pretty neat and well kept. I’m surprised to see their collections of toy trains filling the huge spacious room in the museum.

We have not been there in years and it is truly great. We had planned on going twice this year and never got there as each time plans got diverted. We love trains and Thank you for showing this wonderful place. The trains there are all restored to such perfection that it makes you want to ride them. You could spend a day inside that place as there is so much to see.

My father took me for a ride on an old train like this when I was young I remember it because other than fishing it's the only thing he did with me. I guess I was in the way of his new family. WOW toy's from my childhood another great memory thank God for getting a great step father. The control center I have never seen one other than the one my uncle had photo's of in Germany during WWII they had to take one close to Berlin they just knew Hitler was on a train but he wasn't I was told they stopped about 8 trains and 1000's of Soldiers and weapons from reaching Berlin in the closing day's of the war. My step father built a town around his train it wasn't big but as always it was perfect that's just how he was it took him a month to do a house. WOW I'll have to check out more lot of good memories.

Man, I sure do love these old school trains. I just wish I knew more about them. Glad the museum was open for you but looks like not much of a crowd. How rude for the Mannequin not answering you back 🤣. Had to be crazy making those railroads for sure. I remember in boy scouts our scout leader had this elaborate train set that took over his garage!!! Fun train trip Brian.

Thanks 😊 I remember when I was a kid one night were cruised around St Louis stopping at a whole bunch of houses that had these cool train layouts mostly in their basements. It was some kind of open house. I don't imagine that kind of thing happens today, a bunch of strangers going in houses to look at trains.

That's a good question I don't know but I bet this one is on the list. I really like the one in St Louis too. 😃

12:51 My favorite display was the hobo sitting by a campfire. You’d pick up one of three heavy black phones and he’d tell a story about hoboing in the Depression Era. The museum moved him to a boxcar but he sat, pinched stogie in hand, next to his campfire for 20 years. He was still keeping vigil in the hobo jungle as recently as 2004. I’ve searched high n low online for a picture of that vignette.

I've heard of an erector set but never seen one before. That is an awesome museum. I like when places like that not only display the big stuff, but the little things you might not normally think about.

COOL!! That was amazing. They still had a lot of room too for more expansion. Not very friendly staff tho. They have everything there! The toy train sets were cool and I was surprised by the prosthetics - thought that would be in another type of museum. So impressive! Thanks much!
