That money was reallocated under gavon newsom for his pet projects. It wasnt until we tried to have him removed from power for corruption that the money suddenly went where voters had decided and roads started getting rebuilt.

All the Indiana cops that helped on this raid should immediately be fired. You deserve what you tolerate Hoosiers.

The Indiana cops were probably lied too. If they come out and say the California cops lied to obtain these search warrants and the Indiana DA charges the California sheriff with purgery/lying under oath then I can forgive the Indiana cops involved. If they don't fight back against California then they are as guilty as that DA in California.

Apparently you didn’t pay attention. He’s the one that missed a payment without notifying the builder of any reason for 9 months. So he was put on the back of the list taking 1 1/2 yrs before he would be able to get what he order to be built. He’s the one that broke the contract. It’s just like buying a house. No matter how much you paid off, you miss a payment, your house can be put into foreclosure.

Let the facts come out before you crucify everyone involved. If one officer comes to another officer in another jurisdiction ‘we need to serve a warrant here…’ and he has all the paperwork in order… does the second officer: A) take the first officer at his word B) crucify the lying SoB. C) first, test his general knowledge by asking him what paperwork he’d ask for when stopping a car with a broken tail light and New Mexico plates (hint: ‘Green Card’ isn’t correct)

@@Relkond D: none of the above. The local sheriff is a elected official that is there to protect his constituents/ residence. He should first check the warrant and make sure that it is valid in his district. It should have been a major red flag that it is not a felony warrant. If found to be valid, he should have conducted the search himself under his jurisdiction with his officers only. The county sheriff's number one priority should always be the citizens of his County. Not the federal government, not the state and certainly not a state $2,200 miles away.

Forget the California sheriff doing a favor for a friend. Why in the world did a Indiana sheriff cooperate ?????? The Indiana sheriff needs to answer questions too because he should have been protecting his citizen constituents ????? Even if that warrant was issued by an Indiana judge there is no legal right for a Sheriff from another state to trespass and seize property. Someone needs to investigate the Indiana sheriff.

From other stories about this, I think the sheriff's deputies from California had a warrant that a Cass County judge honored and issued a warrant from Cass County. Mr. Racop was taken to the Cass County Jail and held there for an hour with no charges filed in Cass County.

If an Indiana judge honored it that judge needs to be investigated as well. It needs to be an Indiana warrant issued by an Indiana judge. Unless of course it's a federal warrant then it can be honored locally.

@@steveh7108, there was at least one deputy from Cass County on scene and just let the officers from California conduct their "investigation". I really believe that the judge in Cass County that issued the warrant might have over stepped authority on this. The officers from California left with just two files from this business. Now he's facing felony charges in San Mateo.

@@MSSmith1022 that is one thing that has been unclear to me so far. It was a Indiana judge that issued the warrant ? Or just honor a existing warrant? Either way those California sheriffs had "absolutely no Authority" to do the search unless the Indiana sheriff deputized them. No judge or court order or search warrant gives a civilian ( California sheriff ) the right to search someone's private property/business. And it does not appear that there was any legal Authority from anyone to close the business and tell the employees to go home.

As an Indiana resident I WILL be pushing this issue. Our Sheriff's office better have a good reason for "helping" this corrupt Businessman and California Sheriff.

Just another example of a "spoiled rich californicator" temper tantrum. He's the one who voided the contract by not making payments for 9 months, 9 MONTHS ! Then bullies the gentleman by sending law enforcement after him. Courts should throw it out.

The only way this crap will ever end is by suing these officers personally. When it's their home on the line, not just maybe the loss of their job, maybe the leeches of LE will actually behave.

I hope he gets a great lawyer. The Construction charge is a false charge as it pertains to structural construction not automotive work. And he has sent the man updates on the progress of the vehicle so the complainant know the car exists. This is just another Californian jerk crying cause he didn't get his way. If you skip payments with any other company your order is cancelled and sent to collections for the remaining balance. This company did the buyer a favor by letting the car be bought still, but he had to go to the back of the line for non payment. Fair enough if you ask me. I hope that realtor and his soon to be ex sheriff (he got voted out) friend get what they deserve and charged for false arrest, lying on a police report, misuse of county resources . Who am i kidding this is California Nothing will happen to these creeps.

That diverting of construction fund is a California law. How can you pay a guy in Indiana to build something in Indiana and have the audacity to try and apply California law. California law doesn't apply in Indiana and as you said this law only applies to building construction so it doesn't apply on two accounts. Not in California and not building construction. That California DA and Sheriff need to be personally sued and spend some time behind bars.

I'd personally be wary of driving a car built by the shop of man I had so wronged, especially after the man allowed me and my order to remain in the que despite my not meeting my side of the agreement. Having big time money must be nice though. You can buy batmobiles at your whim, pay for them or not at your pleasure, still expect to get the vehicle precisely on time whether you've meet the purchasing obligations or not, fly off the handle with inappropriate anger when you are told you need to actually pay for the vehicle, continue to get service after going silent and refusing communications and nonpayment for 60% of a year, and then *STILL* send your goons to rough up the craftspeople building your fancy toys anyway.

But then again the man may have integrity and say I’m going to build the car to my usual standard because that’s me. Additionally he has his licensing with DC comics. And he may just want this guy to disappear. Personally I’d have my lawyer look carefully to contract to see if I couldn’t just give him his money back, and tell him no Batmobile for you.

@@mr.skeleton3190 It would be pretty much impossible. The custom chassis and engine are two of the three most expensive parts of the vehicle and they are already complete. The builder would need to complete the car and sell it to another buyer to be able to refund.

Across the board, anyone politician, bureaucrat, law enforcement officer who abuses their office/power should face jail time and professional sanctions such that they can never hold office or be hired to similar positions again, for life.

There are real problems in the world. That a guy’s batmobile build was delayed should not have garnered such expense. Yes it is a case of selective enforcement to appease a potential wealthy donor, When first brought to the San Mateo County's DA office they refused to press charges, it was only after that county's sheriff was personally contacted by the rich guy who fell behind on his payment agreement did the DA there decide she need to charge the batmobile fabricator.

I hope the car builder sues all parties involved. This is sooooo wrong on so many levels.

Good point. One good thing, the arraignment hearing got cancelled a couple days ago, so he will not need to travel to CA.

Please do more stories on corrupt law enforcement and government officials. I think they should be held accountable. They should be held to a higher standard not be above the law. This behavior is disgusting. Unacceptable, unprofessional I guess everyone can easily see who owns the police. With so many real problems. The waste of tax payers money. Doesn’t prevent law enforcement agencies from working with each other for interstate crime. Do the actions here violate the interstate commerce act? That would be a question for a lawyer.

The Indiana local cops were with the California cops during the raid. Those Indiana cops are some real pushovers who kiss the boots of California cops.

Maybe the sheriff should ask his real estate friend if he needs a head of security because he has betrayed the public trust. And if they did have a warrant maybe someone should check into the judicial process as well.

@@Throwingness I’m honking the judges in both states were misled on the affidavits. With all the national coverage of this I wouldn’t be surprised if the Feds get involved.

I hope the national attention results in the real estate guy and Kalifornistan cops/DA getting charges and lawsuits against them. The San Mateo County Supervisors are already going after them because locals are calling them and demanding action.

I would like to know what reason was listed on the search warrant and who in Indiana thought this was a good idea.

Savage_ EDU The local sheriffs office allowed the California deputies to act with impunity. Pretty sure both law enforcement offices are not acting accordingly.

I see multiple ethical violations of clearly established law on the part of the San Mateo Sheriffs Department.

I live in California and was born here. This is embarrassing and disgusting. All of these so called “law enforcement” people need to be fired and sent to prison for life for abuse of power, and pay back every tax payer cent that was spent on this charade. And the business owner should be awarded millions of dollars for being harassed like this. I support law enforcement when it’s done correctly as a service to the citizens. But this type of BS needs to stop. 😡 I just read that some Indiana “law enforcement” people also participated in this. They also need to be fired and imprisoned for life.

How did Logansport, Indian police issue a warrant, for this criminal police raid. Why is no one talking about the Logansport police participation?

There are at least two shady judges involved, one in CA and one in Indiana as well.

Rich P.O.S that didn't get his way gets his buddy the cop to break the law they all should be fired and charges brought up on them

If the Judge he gets is buddy with the sheriff and that attorney. It's a good 99.9% chance he won't get a fair trial. I really hope there is a statement in the contract about what happens when a payment is missed means your car goes to the back of the line. If this is in the contract I feel its a win for this guy and loss for the California guy. (I am no attorney so my thoughts are my own, and should be taken with a grain of salt. For what I think logically should happen doesn't mean it will. )

Indiana's Attorney General should be involved with this.

The DA from Indiana needs to investigate the Logansport Police Dept. in Indiana. They need to answer questions why they allowed this to happen.

at exactly the 3 minute mark they show the official court document stating the incorrect state for logansport being in California NOT Indiana! any good attorney would have a field day with that glaring mistake!

Good catch lionzookeeper! That may be how they fooled the judge into signing it. In any case, their ass is grass. They entered and illegally searched a premise in Logansport, IA with a warrant that allowed them to search a premise in CA. This isn't going to end well for a lot of people.

Must be nice to know the Sheriff so well he'll spend thousands of tax payers dollars to help you out.

Sheriffs: please go after the real criminals. There must be one or two out there who are a danger to the community.

Sherriff needs to pay back the County for doing this costly "favor" including the deputies' pay.

He better get a good attorney. This case should be thrown out and the sheriff, da, and judge should face charges

You guys need to be looking in on the local cops that allowed this. They are not innocent in all this. They could’ve sent the San Mateo ones home.

Its possible that some palms got greased to allow this... but its also possible that the Indiana cops were simply acting on good faith; interstate investigations aren't all that uncommon.

These charges SHOULD BE DROPPED IMMEDIATELY, especially since they left their own jurisdiction AND HAVE NO EVIDENCE OF ANY CRIME BY THE COMPANY OWNER but there is a crime done by California sheriff and most likely the so called rich guy that didn't pay his bills. Conspiracy against the company owner

@@alexkane84 ??? What are you talking about? The money hasn't been held for 7 years. It was 9 months and the rich guy was paying in payments, he bought in at the price of $160,000 or a little higher, you would know this if you watched all the videos and payed attention.

@@alexkane84 the guy only paid off the entire price AFTER he didn't pay anything for 9 months. It seems it was 20K payments. And now since he didn't pay he fell to the back of the line because the rich guy didn't even contact him

What this guy needs is lots of publicity. These kinds of cops hate the light of day. Scrutiny is their greatest enemy. At any rate, let this be a lesson to everyone. A, have a contract and B, make sure that contract stipulates in what jurisdiction all conflicts are to be settled. It's cut and dried boilerplate stuff. No contract for any service should ever be entered into without such stipulation.

Why were Indiana Sheriff Department Officers involved in what is basically a Civil Case and a weak one (in my opinion) at that? The Cass County Sheriff and Cass County Judge needs to explain this.

The client, the sheriff and the deputy dogs all need to be arrested. This is NOT appropriate. This is an entitled ass not getting his way and using influence to get what he wants.

This is what happens when you have elections for law enforcement or the legal establishment. They become politicians. And just like politicians, they can be corrupted and do things law and legal should NOT do! In other places, policing is run by (hopefully) accountable boards. I think that sheriff might be looking for a new job soon.

California dropped the case yesterday and is reviewing the Sheriff's actions. Since the Indiana police are required to oblige out-of-state warrants, their hands were tied. I hope the man can get a good attorney who will civilly sue the people in California.

Exactly that's why the realtor is pissed, he paid 200k and didn't receive anything. They probably have bank records showing the money was used for something else besides his car

Definitely not 200k worth of work! I've seen and heard if plenty of shady shops like these over the years working on cars

This particular car is licensed by DC Comics and they get a cut of the profits as well. You should know a little bit more about what you're talking about before you defend crooked Realtors and crooked law enforcement over a hard-working businessman.

This is just so unfair and quite frankly stupid, I would give the guys money back and close shop before I allowed these crooks to have their way, hopefully it will not come to that and he will receive a fair trial and this nonsense of a case will be thrown out. One or the largest problems with our world today is that there are too many self absorbed and entitled people, the golden rule is not semantic satiation and if more people would practice the golden rule, the world would be a lot better off for it.
