We left San Francisco and headed to Big Sur, stopping en route at the Boardwalk Santa Cruz to check out the iconic filming location from the movie Lost Boys, from there we carried on to Monterey Bay then Carmel By The Sea.
having downloaded the "guide along" app we picked up the guide route out of Carmel and Proceeded along highway 1 for our Big Sur sightseeing drive, the app is awesome and highly recommended it tracks your gps on route and talks you through sights to stop at for views aswel as the history and must sees along the way, we got as far as we could along highway 1 to our hotel Lucia Lodge which sits on the cliff side just metres from the roadblock closing rest of the highway.
Lucia lodge was recommended to us by a friend and we recognised it as being the hotel used in the Netflix show Ratched,
we experienced a small earthquake overnight well Holli did, Toria slept through it!!
from here we will head back along highway 1 to take the detour to our next stop in the next video, Madonna In San Louis obispo!
