I actually never voted for him. The problem with some voters is that they never research a candidate before voting. If you look at the amount of wealth he accumulated during his government work whether he was a mayor or his is governor, that’s a red flag by itself.

I'm am actively getting rid of my contractors license because the state mandates that I carry workers comp insurance, but...I DON'T HAVE ANY EMPLOYEES. Because I didn't pay it (because I can't get enough work) they have suspended my license. The unlicensed guys are under bidding me by 20-30% because they don't have the licenses, insurances, bonds or pay taxes. This state HATES SMALL BUSINESSES, I'M OUT. Moving to Nevada as soon as I can.

CA is so depressing! My neighbor's car got hit by an immigrant who drove a car without a driver license and "no speaking English," too!!! My neighbor called the cop for a police report, and all the cop did was telling the guy don't the car anymore. The moment the cop left, the guy hopped in his car and started driving again! My neighbor took photos, etc., and got the insurance info from the illegal immigrant, but, for sure my neighbor will not be compensated, as the insurance might even be fake!

This happened to my father thirty five years ago! He chased the guy at 70 mph down main street while his car was bellowing steam and smoke! Guy's address was a P.O. box and no insurance!! This is a result of liberal insanity; they are not of sound mind!!!!

As long as Democrat voters don't also leave (Which is happening) and follow you to your state, start voting and next thing they will repeat the same mess.

The reason why they were susceptible to fraud it is because they made people pay back their unemployment back when they would get a second job because they would go over? I got paid $20 more per week for about a month and ended up paying them back over eight hundred dollars. How they could charge people for receiving their own money is beyond me.

It's not "your own money". Employees don't contribute to the Unemployment Insurance Fund. There is no deduction for such on your pay stub. The employer foots the entire bill for it. That said, the entire system in California is so messed to allow people who make an honest mistake to be hounded while gangs and fraudsters get away with millions.

​@@maryannecba3889oh, but you DO contribute as an employee, its just not a "Structured and Labeled" contribution. But as an Employer I factor that cost into EVERY employee I hires wage. I would be totally on board to pay EACH and EVERY employee the EXACT amount I shell out for their UE Insurance requirement when I hire them, but have to consider that REAL cost of employing each individual into the wage I'm willing to negotiate with them for their position with the company. So in essence, they'd be bringing that pay home would contribution be mandated, but because of that added cost, I have to reduce the wage Im willing to negotiate off the top. I'd wager MOST COMPANIES factor this in. They are ALL reducing an employees ACTUAL realized wage and that reduction reflecting from 50%-100% of the cost of the UE's contribution cost per employee. Effectively removing that income that they would bankroll and take home in wage compensation. So, yes, per se I as the EMPLOYER am actually making the payment, but its WITH funds that otherwise would be making its way into the employees paycheck. Unemployment is a crock, right off the shelf anyways, unless you are earning FAR below poverty level income anyway, most especially in California. It caps at about 1800 a month, good luck living off of that in MOST, if not ALL of California. Hell, that'll barely cover the cost of rent for a studio apt in a lot of the State. So I guess one would be going without utilities, car payment, gas for that car, insurances, food and every other monthly expenditure one requires just to EXIST here, let alone ANY luxuries. Whole things a sham, just like SS. A bait and switch ponzi scheme from the getgo

The reality of Ca policies is very concealed. Several of your guests have been so informative that I'm more disappointed in our policies and politics than ever. I've been a contractor for 30 years and I don't want to hire anyone with the current regulations. I'll be swinging a hammer into my 60's which is fine. I'd rather have ice packs in the evening on the ouwees than get sued for some bull shit.

EDD failed to make a legit application for the PUA, then those of us who really needed it got shut off from payments with no notice or real reason, thus taking our rightful funds has led to losing our business forever

Running a small business. We survived the pandemic and got a couple loans. Now sales are down, costs and wages are up, and now more taxes. Breaking even. We’re looking at possibly closing our shop and having to lay off 25 people. Some that have been with us for many years. And it’s just another drop in the bucket, no one cares, no help, not a lot of options. Small businesses are being gutted.

@@eddiekulp1241 I know people who got 100k.For example I have a cuzn who has never worked in his life and has been in prison for 14 years and he received to checks both 40K a piece....When I was working at Tesla I worked over 40 hours a week and they have bonuses so like if you work a weekend that's 250$ added to your check,so if you work Sat&Sun that's 500 ontop of what you make weekly,I was getting 25 an hour....

By shady organisations, non profits need to be investigated, the cost per homeless person is, I think< north of $70,000 a year. Imagine: a city finds suitable land, installs basic sewage/potable water/electricity, the RENTS tents or other such shelters to the real homeless who prove they were recently housed in that city as renters/home-owners. Policing will keep the dangerous out of the privacy fenced settlement. City-owned bus service will allow people direct access only to the municipality itself, not connected to, say, Los Angeles or San Francisco.@@phann860

Its become impossible to make a living here, no jobs no nothing. The state has no social safety net so while prices explode my income was driven to 0. I used to do well with freelancing but they made it illegal for people to use californians as remote freelancers.

I moved to Japan some years ago, and like it here. One thing which Japan has done is to keep unions from having any power in industry or government. Japan is probably the world's most anti-Marxist country, and has seen unions as agents of Marxism. Since unions have no power in education, Japan's schools are among the world's best, and a high school senior in Japan has a level of education to a college sophomore in America. Since unions have no power in public services, public servants are efficient, do their jobs well, and treat the public as respected guests when the public have to do business with the government. Since unions have no power in industry, Japan's manufacturing remains relatively strong, and Japan does not have a "Rust Belt," or collapsed industrial cities. The end result of no unions is a country with the world's largest middle class. Japan is not a perfect place, because no place is perfect, but Japan has managed to keep political, union, and business corruption largely under control.

The same or worse is happening with EBT fraud.

I legally qualified for the personal and business programs they had available and both my personal and businesses (plural) paid taxes every year for years and EDD did not give me 1 penny. I was supposed to receive 10K from the EIDL being that I was 1 of the first to apply and did not receive a dime. Horrible people at the same time they approved fake businesses and identity theft and disqualified applications 24/7.

As a California business owner I agree - we are going to cut jobs and ask others to take pay cuts

When you hangs bag of money out the window for people and businesses, people and businesses find a way to grab it, legally or illegally.

If you were born in Calif. you can have your worker fill out a W8-BEN and pay them cash, no income taxes, no payroll. The state can not impair your contract with a worker. Do not hire employees. Hire workers. Not to mention, income tax is voluntary for state citizens of Calif. Look at a W4, there is an option to be exempt. If no one is exempt, then why would the option be there to begin with? Who is exempt on the W4, who has no federal tax liability? State cit. or simply People. Read page one of the calif constitution, all people are Free...you can fill out a new W4 today, check exempt and stop paying income tax. stop filing 1040, state cit do not file 1040. Yes, IRS will send a CP59 notice asking why you stopped, check the box, not a US citizen. You are a citizen of Calif. Look at your birth cert.

Us citizenship didn't even exist until 1868. DC did not have citizens until after the civil war. So us citizens are federal citizens. United states means DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA., USA means the Union of 50 several states

The unemployment benefit hasnt increased in over 2 decades and is such a small amount it doesnt do shit. Meamwhile they got rid of the max contribution limit and effectively doubled the tax rate in 1 year. That doesnt pencil for me.

This is money owed. Which meant it should have been there based on what the workers have put in. Remember Social Security benefits were never under any issues until after the Iraq war. The money is there but the people holding the purse have allocated it somewhere else. It most likely got relocated towards big businesses fearing they would leave if not done.

Nonprofit started by GOV N wife in 2011 showing big profit maybe since she gets a salary the millions in profit can be donated back to taxpayers.

Unexpected / unintended consequences, governor doesn’t seem too smart.

Why anyone would live there is beyond me.

California should just file chapter 7 and 13. We need a hard reset, the state will never pay that back without us paying for it on the back end. Balancing a budget, should be part of the requirements, that determines your eligibility to be re-elected.

Who hires people? Business owners. You wouldn't have a job otherwise. Dont say the government because they have very selective hiring and it takes forever.

California ranked 33rd in Student Spending, your a good yapper but facts count , NJ and MA,CN are the big spenders on per student. California has neglected schools for many ,yrs . Nothing new , and underpayment of teachers.

Small business owner here. Labor costs and input costs have gone up so much the last couple of years, I have had to layoff all my American workers and replace them with migrants and pay them under the table with cash. Much cheaper without paying for workmen's comp, health insurance, FICA taxes, etc.
