California | My New Motorcycle - Riding in Anza Borrego
I spent a few days traveling to Los Angeles to pick up my new off-road motorcycle and it's not a BMW. On the way home I stopped in the Anza Borrego Desert in Southern California for a little bit of van camping and motorcycle riding on the new Husqvarna 701.

I not only love your videography, but I also like how you eat on the road. I also appreciate your mature approach. So many motovlogs are nothing but silly people that talk too much and don’t know anything about bikes but are trying to share their “authority “. Thank you for the gift you give us.

Hear, hear!
It’s so funny that you call it your “little Husky” … everything is so relative! Compared to my enduro bike it is like an elephant! Congrats though for finding a bike that you enjoy and takes you to places that you couldn’t get before.
Watching your channel the overwhelming feeling that floods my mind is FREEDOM!!!! I really cannot do what you do but my mind hovers around you enjoying every moment. Thanks a lot..
Don't forget that rad little, green "OK" sticker!

Non op dude. Its what we do
Luv how the husky sounded. Plenty of power, less weight, nimble. Seems like the way to go.
Was just watching your previous video, man you are a legend
you have just made your channel much more interesting with that bike!! keep it up. you have a great content in general.
Another great video, really love the easy-going feel and sense of adventure in your content.
Congrats! Welcome to the 701 / 690 Enduro R club. You will love this ultimate lightweight adventure bike.
that is a perfect bike for dirt roads, u don't even need license plate if strictly off road usage. well done man.
Hi Sterling. Interesting how you bought a smaller bike. I had a BMW F800GS, fully kitted, and I sold it for a KTM 390 Adventure. I feel the KTM, being so much lighter, is much easier to handle. It can go pretty much anywhere, and may lack in speed, but how often do we use the speed on small roads. I live in Scotland, and spend my time riding the tiny lanes to amazing places, so I think my switch to a smaller bike will pay off. I love your channel and you are so professional putting those stories together. Enjoy the 701!
Great video. Luv the easy going nature of it. Pro editing. Great shots. The effort u put into this shows
6:15 I've got the same Exploring California Byways book (AAA) from 1972!!! -We took a few road trips up to Bishop and the Owens Valley, quite remote and peaceful area.
Great video sterling, and a nice departure from the big BMW exploration. I, too, have a fun dirt cruiser (Honda XR400R) that I bought new back in ‘98, and it’s so different than my 1250GS. Thanks again for your outstanding editing, narration, and your ability to make us feel like we are right beside you.
I am in awe of what you create. I also enjoy the music you use. If you want to develop interesting, informative riding videos this is the place to learn.
The husky looks like a lot of fun! That must have been quite a liberating feeling stepping down from the BMW 600lbs to this lightweight contender. Looking forward to seeing more of it!
Just found your channel. I have a te300i 2022 Husky. GREAT BIKE, really like your bike as well. I went back and forth on that one and mine. I have plates for mine and it works great for that type of day riding. I like that you show the camp life in your videos. Camp setups, cooks, drinks, etc, that's all a big part of the fun for me so I appreciate you showing all that. A lot of guys just show the riding. Which is fine, but the camp life is a big part of the experience for me and I like to see how others do it and live a little through them 🙂 Keep them coming!
Nice shake down ride
Ride your own ride! Congrats on the new bike!👍🏻🇺🇸
I added an 87 xl600r to my stable last week to join my africa twin. It's a treat! Love your films and lifestyle!
Congrats on the Husky! Awesome content again, thanks for taking us along.
Great choice Sterling and finding that 701 with all those mods already was perfect now you have the right tools in your stable to tackle any kind of adventure
Congrats on the new bike...wishing allot of safe and happy miles!
Nice. I think I want to be you when retire! The Husky sounds just about perfect.
I live in the Midwest now. But, nice to see Anza Borrego again. Back in the late 1970s & early 80s I spent many a weekend exploring that desert. Back then it was in an International Scout II and on a Suzuki SP370 dual sport motorcycle. Thanks for the video. Brings back good memories.
Fantastic! Looks like you’re going to have a blast with that!
Great video and congrats on the new bike. I've been eyeing one of those!
Great video Sterling, love the new bike!
Nice ride, great to see you mixing it up!
Hi Sterling, great to see you are enjoying your new bike! Great video, keep up the good work 🙂
Congratulations on the new to you Husky! I can see you're pretty excited.
Your productions are always such a marvel 😻
Fantastic video Sterling!! Please keep up the awesome content. 👌
So cool good job !
Congratulations, Sterling! I can’t wait to see all of your adventures on the Husky.
Excited to see the upcoming adventures. Really enjoy your videos. Keep it up.
Thanks. A great video that introduces guys like me to possible new adventures.
Congratulations on the new bike! Love the way you camp! Fun stuff!
I spend tons of time out in Anza Borrego and you hit some places that are new to me. Thanks for this video
Fantastic choice with the 701! Can't wait to see where she will take you. Great video as always. Cheers
This is one of your best videos. I love your logic for going for a smaller displacement bike and breaking into a new brand. I have owned 690s in the past. They are great DS bikes. Glad you are not selling the 1200 GS. Fantastic big ADV bike. Ride on!
Awesome job once again...I’ve been catching up in your videos. Have fun on that 701!
New bike love. Always interested in the 701, so I will be keeping tabs. Keep up the great work.
WOW what a great breakfast
Very cool! Happy new year!
The new thumper sounds and looks great!! Congrats!!
always looking forward for your new stories.
Thanks Sterling ...your videos are always inspiring (1200GS owner)..have a great summer !
Congrats on the new Bike!
So excited to see you on the 701! I have a 690 and will enjoy watching you on this.
Soon to be overstoked, both you and us. Congrats on the new bike!!
What a great choice!!!
Congratulations, excellent, thanks for sharing!
Fantastic video. I’m always entertained by your adventures, and inspired by your cinematography.
Quite enjoyed your honesty about getting used to your new thumper. As always great scenery and commentary. Well done Sterling you are inspiring
Awesome choice with the 701LR. Amazing bike. Perfect along side the GS. I want one but I just bought a new GS so my wallet is feeling light.
And congratulations for new bike
CONGRATULATIONS Great choice Sterling Safe travels Amigo.
super nice content great stuff looks like fun down there.
WOW! What a great motorcycle and what a nice drone footage! BTW: I really appreciate watching your outdoor cooking.
You got a Great set-up, New motorcycle and Van Camping!!! Two Thumbs Up Sterling!!
Outstanding
it is really good choice of machine, one of my friend rode Husqvana all around the world for two years so good luck for new adventures and may be you will never go for adventure without your husky in future.
Congratulations on the new bike. This will open up many new places and adventures for you. Buying slightly used, with extras is the only way to go. For me the 650 (701) size is perfect. I can still ride to places on the road, yet I have the off road ability to get way back to beautiful remote areas. I am always riding alone, so I have to be able to pick the bike up with out help under all conditions, the 650 size fits the bill. I'm looking forward to new adventures with the new bike. Well done!
Rad new ride man
Congratulations!!! Super cool & another great video (-:
I have a R100 GS and just love it, but I also have a Suzuki DR 350 and it is so much fun to get more seriously off road with it and enjoy the back country even more. I am looking forward to your adventures with your big Husky thumper. Great videos Sterling.
Love the new bike
Congrats "Stellings" on your new toy. Like you said picking up this one will be much easier. Safe Journeys.
Hey Sterling, great video (and bike review!)

Thanks Ron! Now wait and see what kind of troubles I can get into with a smaller bike (in my next video)!
Love your videos man! Taking mt first moto camping trip this weekend ive learned alot from your channel! 🍻💪
Nice bike, I think you are really going to like it. Beautiful country that so few people ever get to see.
Another great video, Sterling . And a awesome bike. Congratulations on a great buy. I got the 690R, but I'm jealous of your extra tank.
Yeehaw! Congrats on the new bike. I’m on a 690 in Phoenix and always looking for more people to moto camp with.
Congratulations for ur new bike. It looks great 👍🏾 Love from India ❤️
Great video. Never tire of the desalt scenery. Nice new bike look forward to further adventures. That bike or a KTM 690 may be a good companion to my GSA.
Loved this Sterling, nice contrast in the new bike from the GS 👍🇬🇧
Good one!
Great choice on the new bike! What a steal! Also you're a good chef!
Congratulations on getting a proper bike. I'm little biased.
Congratulations on your new bike 😊 l really like watching all your ravel videos. I am now in the process of gettingall the right camping gear, similar to what you have, so l can do something similar but in a smaller scale though 😉 what l find very interesting and what is very appealing to me is to see how you set up camp and to see all the cooking tips and to see how much you seam to enjoy all of this 😊 Thanks 😊
That's a dream bike! If I ever let go of my DR650 I'd love one!
Congrats on your new purchase. You’ll be going further now that you’re lighter. I’m very interested to see how you outfit that bike for your new adventures! All the best from Canada. 🇨🇦
Now thats a proper dez sled. Congrats
Nice rig!
Now you need to mess with the suspension. The ship in race mode. Turn the clickers to get comfy.
Sterling, I'm loving your videos. Thanks for taking me off road in a desert that is in my back yard (pretty much). I just got back into riding with my Honda CB500f but am looking forward to getting a dual sport or adventure bike at some point. You've certainly helped whet my appetite for it...

Good to hear that!
Great choice you took with the Husky! I got the 1200 rallye and 701 too. Poor me, for i don‘t have taht fantastic terrain as you got it in usa. Looking forward for some 701 vids!!! 👍👍👍
Amazzzzing video .. best part is cooking and the rtv village
just got a 701 also love it!!
Another nice ride. I love Husqi too.
Husky got lot of succes here in Venice -Italy..Good luck with your new bike.
Wow I hope I can do that solo ride in the middle of the desert.. Stay safe man
I with you. Got tired of the heavier bike and now love the small ones. Similar to camper vans verses larger RVs. It just more versatile and fun.
Yas! Killer video.
Bravissimo Bravo Gratulation
Sweet deal on the bike!!!
Nice video!
Another good one, if you need a good podcast while driving.. may i suggest...Adventure rider radio if you aren't already subscribed. Keep the vids coming please!
