Utility companies need to be owned and run by the state not for profit. This is true in many countries.

They are pretty much state ran already. Anything the government controls becomes more costly and less efficient. What we need is regulation to stop them from price gouging us. But Newsom is owned by PGE so that won't happen ever. What we need is competition.

It is not the private utilities making this change. It is the STATE.

They will silently keep raising that fee every year.

The PUC and PG&E are in bed together and have been for decades. When will the PUC ever tell PG&E no.

More and more ways to extort more money from Ca residents.

Wow the CPUC just gives PG&E whatever they want!!! The next month they will raise rates again and the monthly “fee” will just be more. This is why Regan screwed us all with deregulation. For profit companies shouldn’t be able to make profit from heating your home!

This isn't a PG&E initiative. It's being crammed down the throats of all utility companies and the public from our friends in the state government.

.. but lets all cry about tipping at restaurants.... how is this not a "junk fee" by pge?
