It's not perfectly clean water, it comes from sewage treatment plants

Los Angeles is one drought away from becoming Detroit

Actually no.... I live close by and have been keeping an eye on the water flow for a few months now..And if you click on the link above you will see the water is reclaimed water, perfectly fine for crops, being dumped at a rate of 60 Million gallons a day... I presume there really is no drought if they can throw away this massive amount of water daily....

The Los Angeles River is too inconsistent when it comes to amount of water flowing through it. Since the river rarely sees that much water it is not that viable as a main source of water. The Mississippi River is on the other hand because it stays pretty much the same strength throughout the year.

where does the water come from?

skeptic9876 well the link was below but it has been deleted from the internet...the water source is the Tillman water recycling center located in the Sepulveda basin.. Now if you look into this you will think the water is not good for humans... But the link that was deleted and thankfully I have a picture of the page says the water meets and exceeds the requirements for drinking.. The liberal left would never allow water to flow down the LA river which was polluted because they stock the river with fish....In other words 60 plus million gallons a day washing out to sea...

Such a waste! Do you know how much water is being dumped into the ocean at the Sacramento River?

It actually was a real river at one point that had steelhead trout and everything, they added the walls for flooding, but the river was polluted and all the steelhead died off

It was a water main break. And yes, it's a complete waste

And a water main break only last a few hours I have been photographing this for months..This is the typical water level....
