One of the worst decisions I've made was transferring to a university from a community college. I ended up not getting in the program I wanted, and got stuck there doing something else. After my BA, I returned to community college to work towards a 2-year certificate in the career I wanted to pursue. No degree is worth getting if you're not gonna use it... SMC (Santa Monica College) started offering Bachelor's Degrees in Interaction Design, so we may see a trend of other top-tier community colleges following suit in the future; and there will be no reason to transfer. I'm a living example of someone who should've stayed in community college. Not all of them are general education farmhouses

When you have a bachelor's degree and you only get paid as someone who works at McDonald's or Target;. What's the point ?

The only thing we should get back to community college is by reforming the educational system here in America because it’s been so trash.

If you want to get paid more, in most cases a college degree really isn’t worth it. If you want to learn about a particular subject, then yeah it is. I have a masters degree and get paid around minimum wage

I'm a current university student (returning adult) and I did the community college route. I'm getting my degree as a personal goal. But I see it all... tuition is absurdly high and these community colleges are panicking because their bloated staffs need to get paid somehow. It's high time to right the ship, and for them to get over themselves thinking they're the only path to success in tomorrow's very different world. The education industrial complex will eat itself.

As a person who went to community college and transferred (eventually) I think that the upper colleges need to start outsourcing the easy/softer degrees like political science, liberal arts and English to the community colleges or allow the junior colleges to give science degrees. It's almost impossible to get into the right classes as a first year in community college. Even in the Cal State system it's almost impossible to find a class that fits into an adult working schedule. It's also a crazy amount of money for a bachelor's degree.

I regret going to community college so much. It's a waste of time, it clearly doesn't work.

Community Colleges have been advertising "free college" and "money for college" for a while now.

True but you also have to understand that ever since the pandemic hit two years ago in March 2020 the whole world was on lockdown due to cases and deaths rising and people were dying from COVID. Than classes were switched online for like a year until Fall 2021 and students were dropping out of college because of it and they wanted a refund from it and half of the students were saying that they wasn't gonna do online classes because that's not what they signed up for. So they stopped going to college and started just focusing on working and taking care of their families and financial needs

Always want to blame this on the pandemic, but what I fail to see anything mentioned in these clips is the rising cost of tuition is the real reason why there is a decline but none of you newscast reporters want to talk about these things or your interviewees want to mention that, why not?

If you work hard and get good grades you should be guaranteed a well paying job.

I think people are learning that you don't need to go to a higher education community college University because it seems all they're doing is hurting people giving them doctorates and whatnot and things that are not necessary I think we need to start getting our students into the trades electrician plumber Mason HVAC etc because we're always going to need those

Some people attending Community College in any State do it because it is cheaper traditionally, some students have to work while attending Community College and even if they qualify for waived tuition 🙄 and Pell Grant's. It still may not be enough and people start taking out Loans, than after Transferring to get a Bachelors Degree it only gets more expensive. Even if it is not a private College are University, getting a education leaves most people with some form of student debt, I personally have student debt I am not complaining are expecting the Government to pay my loan. College is a personal choice not a needed choice for some people. College in America 🇺🇸 should be free like other Countries that way it is on a equal playing field. If you are born in America 🇺🇸 College should be free, some want agree but that is my opinion.

Everybody should have a college education, but those who have a higher education work on none colleges education require jobs ( waist of money )
