Very nice demonstration. I took what looked like a dead Calibrachoa a neighbor was throwing out and watered it back to life a few years ago which is is going strong still. The darn thing flowers almost all year long and as alive as can be. I wanted to clone and hang it off every post in many yard canopies. What a beautiful plant.
Your cuttings sure do look healthy! Good Job

Elaine Pennington I can’t wait to transplant them!
THKS FOR UR BRIEF YET INFORMATIVE VIDEO.
I just went and bought this kind a few days ago. Plus a few other varieties. I thought I would be able to seperate them and plant in mutiple containers. But realized when I got home its multiple flowers coming from the same root system. So I think I'll try your method so I can have many!
Great propagation instructions and demonstrstion☺. I love the get down and dirty title as well ☺👍❤.

@@GardenRudiments no worries and thanks☺👍❤.
Can you overwinter these cuttings under a grow light?? I want to keep my calibrachoa over winter. I love it so much!
is it just me or are calibrachoa sorta delicate plants.
How do you make the plant Ready to take cuttings from..? Once they start flowering, seems impossible to get a non -flowering part.
Hey great video . its that time of year again . Do I mist the soil too . or just leaves just learning ?
Uh oh don't let Proven Winners see this video, you might get in trouble. Thanks for the video
Interesting, I didn't realise the plant would produce roots from where the leaves were.

The Succulent Home thank you for liking the down and dirty lol. What is tfs? I’m a little slow sometimes lol
Mine on one side is dying? Why? It seems to be in a good place..
how long does it take for them to flower?
I wanted to propagate PW Petunia and Calibrachoa early this year but in Midwest they start appearing on market shelves only after mid April. Which part of country do you live?

There is a large greenhouse business about an hour from me. They sell to all of the local businesses in my area. They are a wholesale dealer but also have retail pricing. I went there and bought all of my PW Petunias, Calibrachoas, and Superbenas the last week of March. I also managed to save a few plants from last year. It only takes a couple of weeks for the cuttings to root. I now have quadrupled my plants. I live in Middle Tennessee.
this looks like a petchoa (hybrid of petunia and calibrachoa) and not calibrachoa , actual Calibrachoa has much smaller leaves and is almost never without flowers
Nice! Thank you for this. Can you take cuttings from plants that are flowering already? All my annuals in SC are in bloom. Do I just pinch off the blooms? Thank you so much!

Try to find a piece thats not in bloom but if you cant, yes, pull off the blooms. You don’t want them putting energy into blooms. You want them to put energy into making roots. Thanks for watching!

@@GardenRudiments I've got several that over wintered in pots. How far back can I cut them to get them to flush? Some of the stems are skinny but woody.
I do have a question about where you leave the plants to root. Is it in a greenhouse or held at a particular temperature? I heard you mention that you place a bag over the cuttings. Could you share a little more detail about the environment? Thanks so much! These are my favorite flowers but so expensive so I'd love to try and propagate these!

Natalie Aaby I have a greenhouse. The lowest temp is around 40 degrees. To get cuttings started they need to stay moist. So I water and mist the cuttings and then put a gal. clear plastic bag over them. They will root in the conditions.

if they can i rather root in water as its less messier and easier to prepare. anyone tried this yet?
Y’call that a knife!!
Your coughing because of the dust...omg, i'm glad we don't get our compost like you do....i wouldn't buy that dust...very hard to re-wet peat based substrates once dried out...good job with the cuttings though.....

Ray Andrew it is horrible stuff to use! I’m always searching for a better product. I actually like to use just coarse sand. These have done very well, already transplanted, and growing in 4” containers. Thanks for watching!
Dip and shake what? You didn’t specify what the white stuff is. I’m still a newbie. Thanks.

It’s rooting hormone. You can just barely see the container in the video.

Is this legal to propagate?
