You legit killed this video. Before I was so confused and unmotivated for weight and balance. Now you have made it clear! Thank you so much.

Wish I had the money to buy all these courses. I already have my private, but it has been many years and this is great review material as well as maintaining my ability to be a safe and confident pilot. Most of the time we fly we don't need to do this stuff, but sometimes it's critical that we do.

I'm glad you're enjoying the classes, they're fun to make! Plus who knew playing on the seesaw would get us ready to become pilots.

I wish the weight and balance reports would have a realistic level of precision on those numbers... I mean, moments are written with a precision of 4 decimal places. Really? I'm sure that 59,007.2340 should really be rounded to 59,007, at least! And the starter moment arm - I mean, this report infers that the mechanics measured the position of the starter motor CG to ONE TENTHOUSANDTH of an inch. I'm sure one tenth of an inch would be more realistic.

After doing a little more reading on empty weights, I've gotten a little more confused. According to FAA Phak chapter 10 there are three types of empty weight. Basic, standard, and licensed. Licensed weight includes unusable fuel and undrainable oil. But standard empty weight includes full engine oil rather than undrainable. I'm guessing the the empty weight used for weight and balance would include full engine oil, would it not?

Isn't the CG usuallyassumed as 1/3 x [lenght_of_chord] as measured from the leading edge ?
