Calculate Percents Using Fractions (Solve Percent Problems) - [6-3-15]
More Lessons: www.MathAndScience.com
Twitter: / jasongibsonmath
In this lesson, you will learn how to solve percent problems using the fraction representation of a percent. A percentage literally means "per 100", so every percent can be expressed as a fraction. This fraction representation can be used to calculate percentages of numbers. Here we multiply by the fraction to obtain the percent of the number, and discuss what the percent means in real life examples.

Are in the class ❤
What i love about your teaching style is that you are constantly repeating and explaining what you are doing. You dont assume we "get it" after a few problems but rather you continue to explain the steps you take to solve equations. Youve earnt a subscriber! Keep up the great lessons
This man is a genius, I have been struggling with percentage for years, until I started to follow his page and now am getting it so clear , thank you alot , may God always bless you for helping others like myself , ❤ all the way from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
This really explained all the components that are going on, rather than trying to memorize short cuts instructors give. Now that I really understand I can use these if need be. ❤
This guy is awesome I am actually doing Maths and hated it but he made me want to go on….. woooooow

They also do bookwork and I need to brush up on Grade 7 Maths, so I am finding these lessons a great help. I will definitely be constantly following you Sir. Your explanations are simple and straightforward.
Just came across this guy and let me say he has a way of teaching so I understand everything I learn so much from this guy thank you so much for teaching me I really appreciate it I use to think I was dumb and couldn't learn math but that's not the case anymore! God is good!🙏🏻
I found it helpful how you explain step by step in detail, thank you.
♥️Clarity✨ Thank You♥️

Very good explanation love the way he teaches.
Good explanation thank you so much.
When you use a larger common factor it gets you right to the answer faster.

What if we use another number to solve the division process but get the right answer? Is that ok?

Yes for sure.
If I have 2 fractions: 3/2 and 3/4 which one is > bigger do I look at the top number or the bottom number to know which one is bigger, I learned past decades, but I forgot.
I really appreciate you helping us with math, but can you do some numbers that not even numbers. Example 35% of 63?
You the teacher very good
Hi sir Could you make a test after every lesson that you teach? If you do , I really appreciate that

I get he’s trying to give you the mathematical way without using a calculator but if you wanna do it the fast way, take the percentage they’re asking for, multiply it by the amount and the divide by 100. Works for everything.
Glory to God, Excellent job teacher 👏👍
Thanks sir...

great lesson, I have a habit of as an example 80/100 x 65/1 =5200/100 = 52/1 = 52. I always found that easier
أتمنى ان تكون ترجمة للغة العربية
200/100 divided by 10/10=20/10
3 divided by 2=1 and 1/2
The first problem my tito said if its 50% you just have to half the number you dont have to solve anymore??
20/10 divided by 2/2=10/5
80/100 divided by 10/10=8/10
150/100 divided by 10/10=15/10
Tmm tmm dude
60/100 divided by 10/10=6/10
10/5 divided by 5/5=2/1
84/4 divided by 4/4=21/1
15/10 divided by 5/5=3/2
using division multiplication
260/5 divided by 5/5=52/1
30/5 divided by 5/5=6/1
4 and 4/5
150/25 divided by 5/5=30/5
the easy way is always the given percentage times the given amount over 100
Suggestion! Just explain it in short&take the point only
25/100 divided by 25/25=1/4
6/10 divided by 2/2=3/5
16/1.1/2=16/2=8
8/10 divided by 2/2=4/5
12/1.3/2=36/2

How do 20 over 35 equal 57%
@tomissa9603

Idk
8/1.3/5=24/5
65/1.4/5=260/5
84/1.1/4=84/4
Just started watching I was taught 10 percent of ten percent is one percent
3/2
Just a reminder to all that 100 is divisible by "2, 4, 5, 10, 25, and 50" only... therefore, it won't work for numbers not divisible by those numbers that I have mentioned... For example, 27% you will get a Decimal Fraction of 1/3.703 or 2.7/10... example, 97% you will get a Decimal Fraction of 1/1.0309 or 9.7/10... example. 81% = 8.1/10 or 1/1.2345... ex., 36% = 3.6/10 or 1/2.7778... ex., 43% = 4.3/10 or 1/2.3255... ex. 3% = 0.3/10 or 1/33.3333... etc. Proper Fraction have NO Decimal Fraction Equivalent, like for example 10% = 1/10... ex., 4% = 1/25... ex., 5% = 1/20... ex., 25% = 1/4... ex., 50% = 1/2... ex.,60% = 3/5... ex., 45% = 9/20... ex., 75% = 3/4... ex., 80% = 4/5... ex., 90% = 9/10... ex., 12% = 3/25... ex., 24% = 6/25... ex., 35% = 7/20... etc.
