Calculate Absolute Relief (AR), Relative Relief (RR) & Dissection Index (DI) from DEM using ArcMap.

In this tutorial you'll learn how to calculate Absolute Relief(AR), Relative Relief(RR) and Dissection Index(DI) in ArcGIS.
• Absolute relief (AR) means the maximum height of any region with reference to the mean see level. So DEM is the absolute relief.
AR= High Value Per Grid
• Relative relief (RR), also termed as 'amplitude of available relief' or 'local relief', is defined as the difference in highest and lowest points (height) in a unit area.
RR= High Value - Low Value Per Grid
• Dissection index (DI) or Erosion Intensity is expressing the ratio of the maximum relative relief to the maximum absolute relief.
DI = RR/AR
