Great information on this video. Many years ago we used to have an apartment in Cala Major, very hilly place, and we used to go in the Nixe Palace hotel, very nice. Thanks Steve.

In the 60s my parents used to go to Cala Major - it was THE place to go then.

I stayed in the Algarve, and a couple of hotels had their own sunbeds on the beach, in a separate part from the others. And tourists had to pay to use them, However, if you were staying at the hotel, there was no charge. Do not know if this applies in Majorca, but maybe.

Did you bump into the girl (Majorca under the sun; I think) who is also on KZread? She was in the same resort reporting on the sunbeds at the same time.

If anyone is crazy enough to pay 70 euros, then more fool them, my Mum would have called it silly money. You are right to compare the cost of accommodation with lying on a beach for a few hours. Great walk, but some areas are looking a bit sad.

Extortionate prices for the sunbeds 😱. It is taking away the freedom of the beach from everyone...especially from the people that live there which is wrong. Thanks Steve.

We were in calamajor ca. 1999. We were in a danish restaurant and got " stegt flæsk og persillesovs" we saw danish football there. I cant remember the name of the restaurant but it was on "1. Sal".

I really don't see the beauty of the coast. It's a concrete jungle. Too many people, too busy... inland it will be quieter and more beautiful, I think. I have lived in the Almeria area for 20 years and fortunately there is little tourism with the exception of the marinas. Long live the winter when it is quiet, maybe it is my age... already retired for 20 years. Spain is no longer what it was before and that is why I regularly live in Senegal, away from European regulations and bullshit. It's just my old grumpy opinion.
