STEWART AVERAGED 18 points, 9 boards and 2 blocks as a rookie, safe to say so far that Stewart has had the better rookie season. DT averaged 17 4 and 4, that's pretty comparable. I don't think Clark is one of the best 15 at this time, but wouldn't be mad if she was on the team.

She wasn't snubbed, women's basketball was. You can set up a concert for the 12 most technically sound bands in the world....and then if you have the chance to bring in Taylor Swift, you invite her. Maybe she isn't as technically sound a musician as the others, but the eyes she brings in benefits everyone else more than enough to make up for the 'unfairness' of it. Don't think people are overstating the eyes she would bring, Fever is setting records for WNBA attendance and viewership and they are the second worst team in the league.

She doesn't have to be on the olympic team to promote the league. Currently, the league is being promoted and do not need the olympics to do that. So putting her on team to promote the league is not true and doesn't make any sense. The league is being promoted as we speak. There are many more olympics in the future and she a long career ahead of her. Media should stop pushing this topic about snubbing her and promoting the game. Nonsense !

Two biggest factors in the Caitlin Clark saga (leaving out the race and culture war aspects): 1) CC is a rookie, and needs to improve her game to become Great against better competition, like all rookies in every sport with few exceptions. 2) The WNBA is revealing a remarkable level of Immaturity in their handling and treatment of CC. Everything from the jealousy of current players and them taking it out on her with out of bounds (at times) physical play, former players who now cover the sport who appear to be reveling in her struggle and not offering her support in their coverage of the sport, her teammates not sticking up for her when she gets cheapshotted, and her own coach leaking personal text messages in a press conference.

On the topic of Caitlin Clark & the U.S. Women's Olympic basketball team today there was a "trifecta." Stephen A., and Colin Cowherd disagreed with the decision -- and their thoughts on the Caitlin Clark situation were echoed on the Rich Eisen Show, by the great USA Today writer Christine Brennan. She's been covering the women's USA Basketball women's team, and Women's Olympic Basketball, for literally DECADES. Stephen A. made a point about Duke's Christian Laettner making the Olympic squad one year that was well-taken, and don't forget another Blue Devil -- Emeka Okafor -- was once put by USA Basketball, on the U.S. Olympic Team. And were THEY one of America's best players that year? Obviously not. And one of the greatest of all time -- Magic Johnson -- was put on the Dream Team by USA Basketball...after he had retired from the NBA. (I love Magic, and thought it was a good call.) But due to the fact that Magic was RETIRED from the game when USA Basketball put him on the Dream Team, we can dispense with all the absolute nonsense, about how "players have to EARN their spot on an Olympic basketball team, with their on-court play in the league." What is going to happen, is that all the momentum that's been building around women's basketball -- from the Women's Final Four, which this year had more viewers than the MEN's March Madness, and through the start of the WNBA season -- will be lost. And NBC & Peacock are going to lose MILLIONS of dollars in ad revenue, that they would have gotten from Caitlin Clark's sponsors, like Nike and State Farm insurance. And the worst part, is that the biggest losers in all of this -- are going to be the rank-and-file WNBA players...who are largely women of color, and/or members of the LGBTQ+ community. Whatever happened to, "A rising tide lifts all boats"? The issue is, that Caitlin Clark already got "the bag," so to speak. She's going to live out her life as a multimillionaire, either way. But most women in the WNBA earn $50,000-$75,000 -- and what about THEM? And what about "growing the game"? USA Basketball had a chance to "leverage" Caitlin Clark's popularity -- in the way that Tiger Woods' popularity allowed the top tier professional golfers' net worth grow exponentially, and the way Michael Jordan's popularity helped make it possible for today's NBA stars to earn $50 million per year. And so the "biggest losers" in all of this, will NOT be Caitlin Clark and those around her. Instead, the biggest losers are going to be the ultra-talented women of color and/or the LGBTQ+ community, who've been putting in the work to make the level of play in the WNBA what it is today. In order to "make a point," and assert their "control" of the situation -- which is nonsense, given USA Basketball's history with Christian Laettner & Emeka Okafor -- the people who run USA Basketball have done serious harm to the majority of the WNBA Players Association. And Caitlin Clark? She'll get some well-deserved rest this summer, and will make the Olympic team 4 years from now...and she'll be a rich & famous multimillionaire -- every day, for the rest of her life. USA Basketball has really failed women's basketball.

It's not a pretty game. Most teams struggle to get to 70 points. It looks very unathletic. It's not but it appears that way. The players look like they are glued to the ground. Most of the player barely shoot 35%. Clark at her best isn't going to make this ugly game look any better. It's not anyone's fault. It's the way the game is played and has to be played. The woman's game is falling into the trap of the NBA letting every great player's stack on teams. It makes the product look worse overall. NBA new cap rule is correcting that problem. The WNBA would be wise to do that as well. Stacking teams hurts the league.
