    Then Becky will remind you A. The Aces vs the Mercury had 17406 in attendance at the TMobile arena in September 2023. B. The Aces vs the Mercury this season had over 10,000 present in the first matchup, over 11000 in the second and over 13000 in the third. C. The first match between the Aces and the Fever this year drew 10399. D. 90 dollar tickets are nice but neither the Aces nor the Mercury actually need Caitlin because their average attendance this year is almost 10000 a game

    @@TheMeefivefacts! But, at the end of the day, it’s all about the money. Which one do you think the Welfare NBA like more, 20K attendance at $12-$20 nosebleed seats OR $90+ nosebleed seats at 20K attendance? I hate this Welfare League, I am not a fan, but no one can deny, that this young lady is boosting the ticket sales from bargain price to premium price. If 10K show up at the game at $12 a seat versus 5K attendance at $90+…its basic math, that’s all it is. She’s NOT the best, fact, BUT she sells tickets at higher prices…FACT! I’m not even her fan. The Aces drew 20,366 fans at home vs. the Fever 7/2/24. Their next best draw was 17,406 on 9/10/23 vs. Mercury. Next is 12,927 on 9/13/23 in a playoff game. After that, the next best draw was 10,424 last month vs. Liberty. So while they may have come close to filling a smaller stadium before, they have come nowhere near the 7/2/24 crowd. They have an amazing team…but let’s be honest: Clark has doubled attendance in this league when the Fever plays popular teams. When they play lesser teams…she’s still filling stadiums. Just embrace it!

  • @TheMeefive

    @TheMeefive

    That's not as big a deal as you think. Each team plays the Fever 4 times so for 36 games the smaller teams still play to middling crowds. Overall they're still losing money. Caitlin is great for the Fever financially but for everyone else her presence in the league is insignificant.

  • @7671889

    That's almost a $2 million dollar gate versus a $350k gate for one game, not counting TV and gamepass. Revenue from two home games against the fever make payroll for the whole season. The same 6x effect that you see in the All-Star voting should carry over to league revenue if they have people slightly more rational and objective than Becky Hammond in the front office.

    That sounds good in everything but the truth is the NBA has been growing for some time now they started out with 4000 and now they're up over 10 and that was without Caitlin so she is definitely a major contributor however when you hear things like the WNBA will be nothing without her or will go back to shambles that could not be further from the truth. Caitlin has definitely been a major contributor WNBA does not depend on her to and would be fine if she were not here. At this point versation of attendance is getting old now it should be about what's happening between those lines and the court.

    The Acers and Becky Hammon are the funnest. All year you have not had that many fans at a game. The best you could do was 10,500 at your arena. Clark effect is real.

    Biggest crowd in 25 years? That's a Silver Anniversary for 20,000+ fans at a WNBA game! Las Vegas bookies already giving odds when this 25-year record gets broke.

    Come on you are all in the league to make it something better. Anytime someone comes into the leagues and elevates the game, the fan base, the perception it is a great thing. Get over it and same something. I am so glad she is here, and what she brings to the game. She is a fierce competitor and we looked forward to seeing he on the floor and going toe to toe with her and the fever team. I always love competitive games and the crowd that it draws. They feed on us and we feed on them cause we want to give them the best game possible and show them what all these ladies are made of. And I am grateful for her entry into this league and the opportunity to showcase not only her skill set but all the skillsets that exists in the WNBA amongst such a wide variety of players.

    Happy Birthday Jon!! They just need to let Clark, Boston, and Mitchell do the interviews; less bullsh!t. All Sides can say "we've got to do better" ... But, she Never gets better. I think Sides should just be a team cheerleader. That's what she reminds me of! Not a fan of listening to A'ja either.

    WMBA should protect thier star players specially Caitlin Clark against the "unintentional" fouls before they lose good investments... if that's how capitalism works. They're relevant now because people love to watch Caitlin play.

    Becky was on about making money Caitlin has done that for the WNBA plus added to new viewers gave young people a great role model and yes there are other good role models so for the rest of the coaches snubbing her look at extra money she has brought and the excitement after saying that she is a great player.

    "I don't want to take away from any of that and just be the focal point of the all star weekend because it won't be fair to them" I just can't understand how Caitlin say it so easily , giving praise to everybody else while all the others even her Coach seems like they would choke to death just mentioning her name in a good light.Like directly giving her credit. Right? i remember a college Coach said when she was asked what she whispered to Caitlin she said "I told her I'm glad she's leaving (and going to the W)" .
