Cahill's Crossing East Alligator River, Kakadu Australia
Why drivers should be cautious about river crossings, especially where Crocodiles are waiting upstream (incoming tide), as in this video of Cahill's Crossing of East Alligator River, from Kadadu National Park into Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia.

Nothing wrong here, she was booked in for a boat tour trip down the river and she wanted to park her car somewhere safe. No one is going to mess with her car with those big Crocs around.. 😉

FYI, Bridges above water are more user friendly.
I was there in September 2017 and their was a vehicle on the left hand side of the crossing. I was told a person was killed when that vehicle went in the water..... I just think some people do not have common sence when crossing over to Arnhem Land. When we were there we saw a number of big Crocs in the water.
So, is it still stuck there?
There are times when you actually don't need to be a hero you know
Seems plenty of boulders preventing the car from moving (good planning by the road maintenance gang...note dam wall left side catchment area right side)... hopefully the tide is going out, should be road crew with a Grader or a Backhoe nearby. Would be easy to latch that and pull it straight out. Saw this happen in January 1980 at the Ord river WA, straight after cyclone Amy, BUT that swb-4wd was upside down in the river with 2 Adults and 2 kids still in it underwater...dead of course. You could see the chassis, we actually crossed the Ord but there is a method and technique, long story and scary too. This brings back those memories, plus buliding Jabiru mine near here in 1980
Its very hard to be sympathetic. Thoses utes are very light in the back. It puts the people who try to help in danger too and thats not fair. If I was the semi driver contemplating reversing to tow him out, I would be quoting a 4 figure sum. As it is, no one would be in their right mind to step into that current.

They should shoot a few of those big crocs; since protection they are very bold, and quite a danger at this particular crossing. A few dead crocs might give them a healthy fear of humans again, like they had in the 70's

Good to see that trucker mate stopped and reversed back. Out in these places, humanity seems to be restored, it's nice to see. Luxxy went in hard. Wonder if it went slower would have it drifted as much? anyway - just don't enter flood waters. No way... Great effort from the Maratime Pilot.

Damn riverbank seat drivers
Wow😱
Following the truck is absolutely the wrong thing to do. The truck does 2 things as it moves through the water. It acts as a temporary dam and the water has to go somewhere and it displaces a lot of water which has to go somewhere. This increases the amount of water directly behind it. Either get very very close or wait a minute for the water to go back to normal. That Hi Lux was in exactly the wrong position.
