He reminds me of Angus Young from AC/DC. Calmer and more mild mannered off the stage. But once he gets on the mic, he becomes an animal.

Man I love cage. I love Matt, Daniel, brad, Jared; all of them. They’ve brought me such sentimental memories on their first album and will continue to for a very long time. I can vividly remember spending the night at my best friends house in 7th grade playing call of duty black ops zombies on split screen while blaring their first album singing along to it. I remember taking long trips up to Cleveland Ga with my ex while listening to Melophobia and singing along with her. Tell me I’m pretty got me through a dark time roughly a year ago when she cheated on and left me while my best friend overdosed almost simultaneously. Now their Social Cues is getting me through paramedic school when I get stressed out or discouraged. This band will always have a special place in my heart and provoke so many feelings of mixed emotions, euphoria, and nostalgia. This band is truly one of a kind and hope they stay together for a very long time. Long live Matt and CTE! 🐘🐘

Wow, what a great interview. At times I almost felt cringe because of how Tom's questions were going so deep, personal, and wouldn't just move on when it got tough. Often artists get upset at that and don't want to explain but then Matt turned around and gave us all what we were wanting to know with such openness and honesty. What a pleasure to have a peek inside Matt's head on what is an incredible album. Thanks to both.

Its gotta be hard to play live over and over the type of heart wrenching music Matt is a part of seen CTE live 8 times and the performance is always stellar and full of emotion . ( My first concert of theirs i saw was them opening for Queens of the Stone Age in chicago, im honored to figure out i got to see them on their first tour) I appreciate and am thankful for his ability to continually put himself through those experiences just to play it live for random people Id like you all to think about how much pain it must be for artists to play some of their music live and then appreciate them that much more

Matt Schultz, thank you for a great informative interview. I recently saw you at Ak-Chin in Phoenix with Beck. I am 45 and honestly went to see Beck. You guys were on stage for 10 minutes and I said “oh thats them?” And i did that for the next two hours. You didn’t take a drink that I saw (it was summer in Arizona) and you had this mask/fan and you were all over the place. I was Star struck, I began to really listen to this band. I went home, hit up google and iTunes (cause how hard is it now, finding Bullet Boys was hard hahaha) and began to fall in love with the music. Then the lyrics, then the videos. You guys are great artists, in a time of amazing art! Also thank you for your take on Ready to let Go. I feel that video and lyric will stand the test of time. For me it means releasing painful pasts, maybe even religion based, and allowing yourself freedom to be a continuing, thoughtful person and not allow your inner emotions to stifle you. Thanks CBC for a great interview

Social Cues is a fantastic album. Ive become a Cage the Elephant fan slowly over the years. Just a great band when we have such a drought of good, talented bands.

Immediately after listening to this I watched and listened to ready to let go and I feel like everything makes perfect sense!!! These are the lyrics: Sun went down, sun went down over Pompeii (because he was in Pompeii at the time) On both sides the vow was broken (this is talking about the divorce) Oh my my, I'm the one Trying to hide this damage done (this is how he feels like his suppressing his feelings about all that happened to him recently) One day, all our secrets will be spoken As we slow dance, I became your statue frozen (this is in reference to the statues in Pompeii) Times I wonder, are we just a puff of smoke? Yeah Underneath this bed of ashes, still withholding everything (again talking about the ash statues) Like we were never close (and again talking about the divorce) Don't you worry, baby, no sense trying to change it I'ma strike these matches, never had control I'm ready to let go, no, was I fooling myself? I'ma spread these ashes, never had control (once again talking about the ash statues) I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready to let go Sun went down, sun went down over Pompeii (well you guys get the idea now I guess) On holy ground, our vows were broken We met up, we broke bread I was blue your dress was red, ain't it strange? We both knew this day was coming As we slow dance, I became your statue frozen Times I wonder, are we just a puff of smoke? Yeah Underneath this bed of ashes, still withholding everything Like we were never close Don't you worry, baby, no sense trying to change it I'ma strike these matches, never had control I'm ready to let go, no, was I fooling myself? I'ma spread these ashes, never had control I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready to let go Don't you worry, baby, no sense trying to change it I'ma strike these matches, never had control I'm ready to let go, no, was I fooling myself? I'ma spread these ashes, never had control I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready to let go
