It's a song about hope but also pain from a breakup of a relationship that went bad. The lyrics are a mix of the speaker knowing her relationship couldn't work out and feeling able to move on from her partner, and the speaker remembering how things started well and being sad that things turned so poorly. So, its tragic, but also optimistic lyrically, and the sound of the instrumentals and vocals aside from the meaning of the lyrics is a mix of emotional and upbeat. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk
