Hi Klaus, you should invent/build a replacement for that impossible to find micro switch potentiometer that goes on the trunk hinges arms. The rear sensor. My car keep going out of sync very often. Thank to your tips I've got the scanner to do the relearning. The trunk door stays open during the opening. But I wonder why it keeps loosing synchronization after every few opening.

This is sooo cool! Question, can you list the part numbers of all of the micro switches?

Hi Klaus My trunk will only open when I insert the key in the back bumper. It tries to open when you hit the button on the key fob or the one on the dash but only comes up about an inch , you can hear motor running, then it closes again. Any suggestions?

Hi again Klaus, something weird happened to my XLR top. It was opening and closing. But wasn't opening perfectly always requiring to press the button twice when getting to the point to close the trunk. So I opened the top half way to clean some areas of the rubber seals then with it half open I connected the Tech2 like I always do and started the relearn process. At that point the Top stopped responding at all. Doesn't do anything when pressing the button. It looks dead. On the Tech 2 I can manually go to an option where I can manually sctuvate de pump open and close that trunk small cover that moves in and out. That means the pump is working fine. Do you have any ideas? Oh at the same time both windows stopped responding and where open. But I accesses their modules directly from Tech2 and was able to close them, now they are working fine. I checked fuse, disconnected battery... nothing worked... I have the message Top not secure on the dashboard.

@@TopHydraulicsHi Klaus, any ideas? The dealer has my car since last Friday, still haven't heard from them 😕

@@EASYUSA Hopefully, it's just an accumulation of too many error codes stored and there is an easy way to erase those. I have seen that on older Mercedes tops. I hope the dealer can get some tech support from GM, as I imagine they don't have any more experience using the Tech2 on an XLR top than you do.

Hey Klaus, you mentioned that the decklid open switch was easy to replace even if we can not find the part. How do we fix the switch or replace it to open and close the circuit even if we cannot find the part?

Well, "easy to replace" is relative. I haven't searched yet, but there surely are micro switches that are roughly the same size with somewhat similar levers on them. The idea is to find a micro switch that has a longer lever on it, bend that lever to roughly match the one in the XLR switch assembly, and fasten the replacement switch into the plastic holder (most likely using epoxy). I would first look in the Omron catalog. The part number for the GM switch assembly is 19120639.

I've got a Tech2 scanner, what exactly is the path to re-calibrate the micro sensor?

Thanks for asking. Here are the notes we took at the time: Go to - Cadillac - Y - body control - roof - F5 module setup - relearn roof then push and hold the top button so that the top goes through all its motions.

@@michaelgreene4247 Yes and it worked. I have to do it very often. This roof tend to loose synchronization very often. I actually keep the scanner in the trunk in case it get stuck while I'm away driving. Every XLR owner must have this scanner. It was just over 300 bucks on eBay.

@@EASYUSA This is the first time I have herd that the calibration needs to be done frequently. Have you taken a look at the potentiometer to see if it has some particularly loose or worn bushings? Or does it look like the sensor has been wet before?
