Thank you for uploading this one. I have a very personal connection to Cades Cove. My grandmother, Ruby Oliver grew up in the John Oliver Cabin. The family story passed down through the years gotta something like this: John & Lucretia Oliver arrived late in the Fall, much to Lucretia's ire. She was worried that they wouldn't be able to gather a harvest before winter. Anyway, their harvest was small and they were worried about surviving the winter. Asking with the fact that the Cherokee could be seen watching them from the forest line. Previous settlers were all killed by the Cherokee. One snowy, wintery night a sick and feverish Cherokee showed up on their front porch. In their kindness, they took him in and fed him what little food they had to help nurse him back to health. The Cherokee saw what meager portions of food they had. After he had recovered and returned to his tribe, something miraculous happened. In appreciation for healing their tribesman, every so often they would find pumpkins, squash and other various vegetables mysteriously appearing on their front porch. That small act of kindness by the Olivers ensured their survival of that first hard winter and for years to come. Cades Cove was named after the Cherokee Chief named Chief Cade. Hope you enjoyed that trip down memory lane!

Thank you for watching & sharing! We, truly, have no idea of the life of our elders and ancestors. They were simply amazing people! Be blessed! xoxoxo
I live only 20 mins from cades cove.. We moved here not even a year ago and best thing about Tennessee is cades cove.. On easter we got with friend and went and had a pinic in the cove.. My kids flew kites and played ball.. Its so peaceful
Love my East Tenn Mountains.... I miss them so much... thank you, thank you for sharing!!
This makes me want to be an Apalachian woman! The scenery is absolutely stunning!
how beautiful!!!!---this you cannot buy because its free--God sure makes some beautiful things---will take that any day --God bless!
Beautiful trees strutting their Fall colors 🎃🍁🍂🌾🍁🍂
The cove is nightmare on Sat. During fall break. It took us four hours to get through it . Every time someone a half mile ahead of us saw a bear they would sit there for 15 min. And watch leaving everyone behind looking at nothing. If people would just look a little and move on it wouldn’t be so bad. Another day of the week would probably be great because it is beautiful.
I was at Cade's Cove just about a month ago. I love it, though I was disappointed to not see many animals.
Ahh....Cade's Cove....the Smokey Mtns my home away from home in Illinois! It's such a peaceful valley, but can get quite congested at times. Can't wait to get back out there again. Many blessings to you and your family!
It is beautiful there. The colors oh my the tunnel wow. I want a road trip now. The beauty is just amazing. Breathtaking. Ty Patara so much.
Cades Cove is one of my favorite places on earth. I have gone there many times as I was growing up.
thank you for sharing all the historic building and incredible views!
We go there about every year and love it
I totally enjoyed the tour of Cades Cove...I've spent a lot of time there over the years and can't think of a better place to spend as much time as possible! Thanks for reminding me of great memories....Happy Thanksgiving!
My family could live in the Cove !! That is a must stop for us while up in Tennessee !! So much beauty back in there !!
My second home .... One of those places you have to visit four times (for each season) to see it's true beauty.
Beautiful smokey mountains, thanks for the view. 👍
Lijah olivers cabin has always been my favorite place in the cove.. I can't wait to get back to my mountains!!!
This is wonderful. We usually go every year but we're in the process of building a new home on some beautiful acreage to get ta homesteading so we weren't able to make our annual trip....I am missing it terribly.... this helps a great deal. Thank you.
I remember reading about Cades Cove in National Geographic in 1962. Then it wasn't a state park and a few families still lived there. I've always thought it would be a nice place to visit, but yet haven't made the trip. I still have that issue of NG, though! I'm glad it's been preserved.
That was a beautiful and fun road trip with you, and I enjoyed your silence tremendously so that all the sights and sounds could be absorbed. :) Some people feel they must talk continually or narrate obsessively, but your video was perfect!!! Now....let's get back to your wonderful farm. 😘❣️💜💙💚💛❤️💝🎥
they are all backed by a river/ stream too ☺ October November is the perfect time to go!
I think me and my brother are part of the reason the sign was put on the rock cliff at the swimming hole. (don't climb/ jump from the rocks) LOL!! We love cades cove there is so much history there to learn about. To us seems to have been a much more simple life in the 1820's
How beautiful!
We were just in that area back in June. So beautiful! I love Tennessee!!

Really enjoy the road trips, lets us tag along and see the beauty through your eyes and camera.
This reminds me of a place in my home town in Indiana Spring Mill State Park but it has a village and there is people in some of the cabins making stuff one makes rugs one is a black smith and there a wood worker and a leather maker there a corn mill that run and makes corn mill and they sell all the stuff also a woman that in a house that cooks on a open fire place and one that works in the garden. I worked there in the summer as a teen helping some of them and cleaning the cabins they are filled with antique furniture I would also keep walk ways clean of cigarettes and trash and I picked bugs of plants in the garden in the mornings I loved all the things I learnt wonderful experience.
we were just there 2 weeks ago it was amazing the color of the trees!
I really love your quiet travel/sight seeing videos. So peaceful and beautiful. Makes me want to visit Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains in the worst way.

I adore going up into the Smokey mountains, mostly via Cherokee, and Gatlinburg entrances. My family has a very deep connection to NC & TN, starting back in the colonial era.
Happy Thanksgiving---water so clear---the view is just wonderful---
Beautiful scenery. Thanks for taking us along. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving! xo
We were just there today. It is one amazingly beautiful place. It was a little unreal viewing the homes of the local families like the Oliver's and Tipton's and then seeing their graves at the old Baptist church. It was so nice to see the beauty and get a sense of what it must have been like to live back then in such a "simpler" time, but then to see how hard it must have been when seeing all the infant graves. A terrific experience and we will definitely visit again.
whoo hoo road trip !! thanks you for taking the time to film this beautiful and amazing adventure !! it really means a lot to me to see the sunning view and different place along the way as i am a suffer of agoraphobia so seeing this from the comfort of my home is everything to me
Hello: Very nice trip.
Picture perfect!
Incredible. I love it.
check out River Mist cabins if you ever want to stay IN the mountains about 30 40 min away from the main busy strip. the few cabins there are big with whatever you need (hot tub on porch) to stay in a quiet place with the fam, its really peaceful and a great stay! 😊

Did they ever get Gatlinburg rebuilt after the big fire?
How long does it take to tour? We are driving from Nashville to Charlotte and hoping to make this a pit stop!
