It takes A LOT of breath to start and finish a whole cadence when you’re the leader

the point of cadence is to make you breathe more while running too many idiots clamp up and pass the fudge out ...

Good memories. Think you can't do 3 miles until some starts calling cadence.
The thing I miss the most is these double time cadences
Whoever is doing cadence at 4:30, you're a legend. Been running to his cadence for years

man...running many many miles to this cadence...the memories....
I hated running with a passion, like to the bone except when I ran guidon or had a good cadence caller.
The cadence I said when I was a Corporal in the infantry was "see the lady in the red, she likes to give a lot ahead, see the lady in the black she likes to do it on her back". I did this in front of the mail room where all the wifes were picking up their mail and the wifes would bust out laughing. My squad said it loud and proud. C Co, 1st Bn, 6th Inf.

@Zert Tey Our mail room was in the HQ Barracks in Illeshiem Germany. Ground floor was always open all hours for the mailboxes and unlike other MOSs bitch, 11 Bravo exercised or marches around the base all hours of the day my little remf.... So suck it..... Some days you don't know if you should scratch your watch or whind you ass and when people die because of your desicion you might hate yourself for a long time. That's something they just can't train you for.
"Bo diddly bo diddly have you heard. I'm gonna fly that big white bird. If that chute don't open wide, I got another one by my side. If that other one fails me too, I'll be feelin' mighty blue. (alternative..."I'll sail off in the big old blue) Tell my momma I did my best. Bury me in the leaning rest." From Basic training Fort Dix, 1976
I miss this... I never got a tab, but I supported The Rangers twice as an intel guy. I just miss this commraderie

Ranger! Keep on rocking in the free worl.
I have the honour to have jumped with the 82nd Airborne. When they came to do a joint exercise with the Canadian Airborne Regiment in Petawawa Ontario. They were really big lads! And, I love the Black Sabbath innuendo in this song! Osons. Ex Colis. A retired Canadian Airborne trooper sends his utmost respect.
May God be with you and your families.

"I like it , I love it, I want some more of it, make it hurt D. S. Make it hurt. I hate running and hate water even more! Never forget the lister bag hanging in the woods, algae growing all over the outside, with a swarm of yellow butterflies to boot. Hand full of purification tabs 2 kicks and a come get it Screw that, but I do miss it 4 some twisted reason. My gpaw was a naval cook on a battleship in ww2. My father was Navy loadmaster, quarter master, rescue 20,000 hrs C-130H over 500 in a chopper after nam he finished his time with the Blue Angles(f-4) I went army in the early 90's. My wife's oldest son is a marine, my son went air force. Hooah And no tin huts in the army, that's the latrine! Miss all my brothers and sisters and thanks for everyone's service!
I was a beat at PT I was a Airborne, but I never went ranger. Probably one of my biggest regret in life.

Love this cadence - my old Drill Sgt. used to love the Tie a Yellow Ribbon cadence back in the late 80's - 1980s... He was very religious so swearing was definitely not a part of his cadences. We got those others from another Drill who everyone called "foulmouthed Phil" - behind his back of course 🙂 Front lean rest position! huh!
Ready to jump out of a plane from my treadmill! Get some!
I miss it all day every day
