CACTUS PLANTS Indoors Spring/Summer 2021 (Cactus that Bloomed under Grow Lights this year)

Cactus Plants in Bloom Indoors Spring/Summer 2021 (Compilation of some of my cactus)
JUST A SMALL SELECTION OF MY CACTUS PLANTS FLOWERING UNDER GROW LIGHTS INDOORS FROM THIS YEAR, Spring/Summer.
So these cactus are the ones that have not been shown flowering in previous videos, so I have put some video clips together to make one video for now, to sum up some other cactus I've had flowering as well this year
...this is not all of the cactus, just a small selection, to prevent video being too long!

This is a BLOOMING LOVELY video Claire :-D so many stunning and BEAUTIFUL Cactus flowers, Grow lights really are so fantastic, I feel that Cacti and succulents grow and flower better under the Grow lights than in the windows in our climate, as Grow lights always give off full spectrum sunlight, but when we have cacti on the windowsills we don't enough sun in our British and Irish Summers even when we have them in a south facing window, and your beautiful cactus blooms are the perfect example of how grow lights work so well for cacti, thanks so much for sharing the beauty of the blooms with us Claire, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Sea for a wonderful evening XXXX

Exactly true Lyn, grow lights are brilliant, I wonder now how I managed without them, I have such tiny window sills so it's hard to keep plants on them really but I make them fit! So it's great now I have the lights... one of my Lithops bloomed so amazingly under my new Niello grow light recently too, but yes our climate is just so temperate all the time 😆 thanks so much Lyn for watching and commenting and for supporting my channel 😊🌵🌞💚

It’s amazing how you can make your cacti flower even if they are indoors and growing with growlights. I find that parodias need heat to open fully. Your cacti all look so healthy. Congratulations on reaching your 1k subs! More power, Claire!

Thanks, Ana 😊 I was pleased to have some cactus in flower, even if they didn't open wide... such ups and downs, with the temperatures, it's like it works against us at times 😄 I do get good results with those grow lights though, but yes it's that heat, as you mention, that's so important for certain genus. Thank you for your support of my channel, much appreciated!🤗🌵🏜🌞🪴

Awesome video, Claire 😊 Shame the Gymno flowers didn’t open fully, but I’ve found they do like a lot of heat for them to fully open. Hopefully you’ll get some variegated offspring with the one that was successful 😁 Thank you for sharing with us as always, Claire. Have a wonderful evening from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜

Lots of great blooming this year! It's unfortunate when the weather doesn't cooperate though and they decide not to open.

Wow you had so many in blooms. I love your loph so pretty. All of them have beautiful flowers. Well done on the time lapses, love watching them opening up. Hope next year that Spegazzinii will flower fully for you. Most of my Spegazzinii flowers really doesn’t open fully. Most of mine open half way only during the hot summer days. That’s amazing that mihanovichii doesn’t like the other but of the variegated only haha. Soon you’ll have loads of variegated seedlings. 💚🌵

Thank so much Katherine for watching and commenting 😁🌵💜 Now I have a more powerful grow light, it will be great to see what difference it has on the cactus plants on the shelf. I will keep the spegazzinii under that new grow light, so maybe it might open more next year, hope so, but its gorgeous either way and love that cactus you gifted me 😊 ...its so funny, I thought the same about those G. Mihanovichii cactus, it liked only the pollen from the variegated one!!!🤣 I will definitely try again next year though and cross pollinate, if they flower again 😄

Love your astros!!! The only one I have is the purple asterias that Daz & Edith sent me. I had 4 myriostigmas in a pot but root mealies got them before I knew it. I will try to get another this spring! Love the gymnocalycium spegazzinii!! Katherine sent me one also😀👍!! Beautiful lophophora!! I think most Notocactus have been moved to parodia now. Like Notocactus ubelmannias. Now parodia werneri. Sorry I missed this video! My old phone doesn't always give me notice. I have a new one, but won't get it set up till this weekend. You have some awesome plants Claire!!! From Morris park in the Ozarks, out to the U.K. , have a wonderful day!! Peace,Love,Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌻🌲🌹🌳🌷🌿🌸🍀💐😀👍

Thanks so much for watching, Clyde! 👍🏻😁🌵🌞🏜 Astrophytum are definitely cactus that die easily, and have a habit of going very much unnoticed until way too late, especially internal rot, and also when attacked by the mealies too, I've a had a few slow deaths from both situations on otherwise healthy looking Astrophytum. I find it's very hard to know when buying these cactus whether you are getting a dying cactus to begin with, and it's pot luck! Good luck with your new phone, Clyde!😊😊

Hello Claire . Lovely flowering video there. Can you help me with my question. I have cactus under grow light of 20W . Giving 10k Lux. But they are not growing . Staying just as they are since 6 months. Can you tell me what's the wattage of your grow light . And is it white or full spectrum

  • @CactusCove

    @CactusCove

    2 жыл бұрын

Are you using LED Grow Lights, only asking because you say the lights you use are 20W? Distance of lights will affect growth rate as well as the length of time lights are turned on in a 24hr period, the room temperature too will impact growth, and blooming, and low temperature affects seedlings slowing their growth too. Depending on whether you're growing cactus seedlings or have mature cactus, remember, depending on your location in the world, plus the season will affect whether they are actively in growth or in a semi or dormant stage, for instance late Autumn (Fall) or Winter, many cactus will slow growth right down until Spring and Summer. My grow lights (the tri fold ones) are full spectrum, 150W with actual power usage of 30W to 35W because they are LED, so energy efficient.

@@CactusCove thank you so much for your reply. Yes it's winter . I have kept cacti outside with grow light on because light gets room too bright . Now I have covered them with plastic ro maintain warmth. Can you tell me how many Lux of light intensity you maintain at present to get the idea I'll maintain the same
