Thank you very much! The big bloom events are really something to be caught in. It is like a fireworks show with good smells mixed in. The different color flowers open at slightly different times... And after... The wilted flowers are so funny... like popped balloons and cotton candy all over the place! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching. We have moved to Oregon and we are rebuilding the superbloom one cactus at a time. I took cuttings from most of the cactus and moved some of the "small" plants. Hope your day is really good. ^^

We loved creating that yard in California. We thought we would always be there. The new owners seemed to really love it and we are starting over in Oregon. The fun never stops!

Thanks for watching! They started blooming those giant flowers after one year. The large ones that do the super blooms are about 5 years old now. We are now restarting with a few cuttings from those plants in Oregon. In California there was much less rain and so much sun .. they did great outdoors. They seem to tolerate the full sun and the outdoor conditions very well.

I have no idea how all the flowers manage to bloom all at once, but they do. For many of the cactus that I grow, the first super bloom happens in June. I watch the flower progress from fuzzy little bumps to full flower and I love it. Thanks for watching^^

What kind of cactus is that? And how did you make it flower so beautifully! Did you feed them and what kind?

The big red flower cactus was labelled as a "Torch" cactus at the nursery where I bought it. I think it is trichocereus grandifloras. I made a video just about them, because they really like to show off. I use a little "superthrive" when I transplant them or if they get stressed. Mostly, I think if they get some water and have sunshine... they like to bloom. Thanks for watching!

I have a 30 years old I think it’s called Peruvian San Pedro..lol not sure..but it’s always in door and it’s about 2 feet high with some 3 or 4 brothers 😄 ...it didn’t flower at all. I will be transplanting them, I already bought some cactus soil? And keep my fingers crossed! I’m in Vancouver Canada. Do you think it will flower? I’ll keep it indoor especially now it’s getting cooler!

@@edithawylie7277 My best guess is that the more sun energy they get the more they flower and grow. The California sun spoiled me. They really flowered if I kept them watered. In Oregon, now, They do not flower as much … even in the greenhouse. ^^

The large red torch flowers open and close for two days at the most. If it is really hot... only one day. The white and pink echinopsis flowers usually last for just one day. Thank you for watching ^^

Yes, about 8 years ago I purchased a random cactus seed package from the internet. The package said it "may contain a saguaro". About 5 of them have survived. Some are still in the landscape in California. I have a potted one in the greenhouse on the shelf in the back. Hope your day is really good!

Thanks for watching. ^^ I try to name them... KZread mentors help me identify others. The pink and white flowers are echinopsis hybrids. The huge deep red flowers are tricocerus grandiflorus aka "torch". Many hybrids exist with different flower colors. Hope your day is really good. ^^

Most of the videos were made, and plants grown in California, a small place called Olivehurst. Last year we moved what we could to the Oregon Coast. We are also... starting out again. Hope your day is really good... Welcome to the channel.

@@franciscotrillo8269 My first echinopsis was a gift in 2010. Many of them were purchased at Home Depot or Orchard Supply stores. There are cactus and succulent clubs in Sacramento and Carmichael. They have shows every year and I would always pick up something at those shows. ^^

Wow thanks for replying ! I started as a child but my dad got left with them when I left home . I started again in March this year as my wife got me a bowl with six in , now 3 months later I have over 200 plants and 40 trays with germinating seeds in them . I bought one packet from each company that I could find , oops bad idea , I have packets turning up most days from China or America or Greece or God knows where ! And I've rediscovered lit hops as well , another bad idea !

When do fertilize your cactus? What fertilizer do you use? I understand that tomato fertilizer in the spring promotes flowers?

I use a few drops of a product called super thrive. It smells like fish emulsion. It is sold at Home depot stores in California. I use it when they are stressed or replanted... maybe a couple times a year. Hope your day is really good.
