I love how diverse horror is. You can like horror and still have a very specific type of horror that you nope out of.

Horror mostly just bores me. I do enjoy some light horror with some comedy though. Interestingly, I prefer gore in my action movies.

I get really psychologically disturbed by gore, torture and the more psychological terror themes so I'm not a fan of horror. But I like horror-comedy like The Addams Family.

I agree that the first trailer for Wednesday made it seem like it was going to be school drama ala Riverdale, Sabrina, legacies or Winx. But this trailer expanded on the themes. Showing that it's more of a spooky mystery drama with some humor that just so happens to be set at a school, rather than a supernatural school drama. Love it and can't wait!

Jay's face at the end of the Hellraiser trailer was priceless 😂 I watched that movie before bed the other day , it was so good 😏

Me too. I quite enjoyed it. It's been awhile since I saw the original but I don't recall them going into the lore as much as they do this time which I found really interesting. I hope they keep things going from here. Our new Pinhead was really good. Loved both the redesigns of classic cenobites and the new ones. Especially the one with just the skin from the face stretched open and nothing behind it. That was really cool.

I watched it and Werewolf by Night back to back for a delightful tone combo that really made my night lol

Yeah, Hellraiser probably isn't up your alley but I will say it was EXTREMELY good. Had a great, horrifying time watching it the night it released.

Been a huge fan of Hellraiser and Barker for decades and I agree. The new Hellraiser is really great. There is a lot more information given about the box and I like the new things they did with the lore. Can't wait to see if they make more in this series.

Hate to be ‘that guy’, but I wasn’t impressed tbh. The PG-13ish quality kind of took away from the whole Clive Barker feel of the the original couple movies (c’mon, Bloodlines was ridiculously bad, and not in that good way, right?). My 13 yo daughter, who loves the genre, embraces the gore and absolute preposterousness of those films, actually fell asleep about 2/3 of the way through. Sorry. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@toddschneider847 PG-13?!? That was some of the goriest stuff I have seen in a big studio R rated film in forever. Sorry that it didn't work for you (personally, I loved it, it is right up there with the first one for me), but that particular criticism has me confused.

Cabinet of Curiosities has a strong Alfred Hitchcock Presents/Night Gallery Vibe to it. Could be very interesting. I might deal with the horror just to see where it goes.

Between Cabinet of Curiosities and The Midnight Club there's going to be plenty of quality spooky stories to watch over Halloween.

Cabinet of Curiosities is doing adaptations of a some of the all time greatest horror fiction out there, from HP Lovecraft to one of my all time favorites, Michael Shea's "The Autopsy." I am super excited.

Cabinet of Curiosities is giving me MAJOR Creepshow vibes.

Holy crap… del Toro never fails to give me goosebumps.

Knock at the Cabin is based off the book The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay. It looks interesting, but Shyamalan is soooo hit or miss

In the cabinet of curiosity's 2 of the movies (shorts) are directed by the woman who made babadook and the guy who made mandy. Mandy was amazing if y'all haven't seen it. It's a bloody trippy revenge tale with Nicolas cage as the main character

So happy to see this come out today, knowing there'll also be the wild She-Hulk finale later!

I KNEW that this Wednesday trailer would get Jay on board! I just knew!

Out of all the horror movies I stealthily watched as a child when my parents tried preventing me from doing so, and for good reason lol, Hellraiser was the one movie that truly scared the crap out of me. Pinhead still is to this day my top fav horror villain bcuz he is actually terrifying but looks cool as hell in concept. I plan on watching this new version this weekend, traumatizing me all over again 🙃

I love the Rolling Stones music in Wednesday's trailer! Took me a while to place it, but finally got it, lol!

Wednesday is Scooby Doo Spooky Funny Mystery Solving

Back in the 60s the Outer Limits made a compelling 2 parter about 4 good men hijacked by a force beyond their power, to complete a vague but sinister "project." They are tormented by their loss of control and their terror that they are pawns to something horrific. Dated production values, but A+.

The hellraiser movie on hulu is fantastic! Best one since hellraiser 2, deff top 3 and I argue it is better that the 1st and comparible to the 2nd.

loved the Hulu hellraiser. loads of fun. only issue was it wasn't wet enough. the cenobites needed to be more damp.

I don't imagine anyone not from Australia or not born in the 70's or 80's will know who they are. They've got some good stuff though if you feel like checking them out.

Knock At The Cabin isn't a remake. It's an adaptation of a Paul G. Tremblay novel titled "The Cabin At The End Of The World". That title works for a novel, but a bit much for a movie/poster. So it was shortened to "Knock At The Cabin".

I thought it was a retelling of the same story as Joss Wheadon's "Cabin in the Woods".

The only exciting thing about most trailers is the same heavy background music. Formulaic, unimaginative, always the same predictable construct. BUT it's good to see you, guys!

They had 2 Trailerpalooza's. This was Halloween themed, so Violent Night was in the other one.

lol I like how he says Wendell and Wyld isn't his thing then says he liked COrraline...literallly made by the same people, I know this because the animation superviser Anthony Scott is my cousin. He worked on Night before CHristmas/james and the giant peach/corpse bride/ frankenweenie/ Corraline and other projects but yes this is the entire COrraline gang's new project.

Wendell & Wild, Wednesday and Cabinet of Curiosities all look like a blast. Most of the other stuff is not to my taste (I'm a bit of a wuss). Love spooky season!

What about California Raisins though?

I really do love Shyamalan movies. For better or worse, they are always so intriguing. And aside from the couple I haven’t seen, I’ve really enjoyed them all, all told (I wholeheartedly enjoy The Happening, but that doesn’t make it a good movie, if you’re asking.)

Wednesday: Looks great. I think Jenna Ortega is killing it! My inner goth is very happy. Wendell & Wild: I really dislike stop-motion animation stylistically but this looks kinda good. Thumbs up for featuring a black goth girl! Cabinet of Curiosities: Awesome! I'm so in! Great cast too. Knock at the Cabin: Cool premise and very tense. I'm in too! Hellraiser: I love the first 3 Hellraisers, the rest was garbage. But this looks like it's going back to basics with sleeker cinematography. Looks good! And yeah ... I'm walking out of movies like that just like that. :D Halloween Ends: I really enjoyed the first 2 of this trilogy. I hope they stick the landing.

I was exceedingly uncomfortable watching Hellraiser but I watched it for Jaime Clayton, the actress who plays Pinhead in the new film. She was so excited about playing such an iconic character and I’m a big fan, so… 😂 The movie was really good, just made my hair stand on end with all the skin horror. 😅

All the things I’m excited for just have Adam like NOPE 🙅🏽‍♀️ I’m really looking forward to Wendell & Wild, esp as a spoopy movie in that style with a BiPOC cast & characters. It looks awesome. And I’ve been excited about Cabinet of Curiosities since I heard of it. Guillermo can do no wrong, at least so far. M. Knight movies feel like they go 50/50, but that looks really good, so I’m hopeful. If nothing else, I love that cast. Awesome trailerpalooza, guys! Thanks for enduring some horror for us lol

Out of all the horror movie trailers they watched. I am Surprised that the M3GAN trailer wasn't on that list because that also came up recently. But it came out like 2 days ago, so I can't blame them if they missed it. It would be great if they did though.

Knock At The Cabin is based on the book, The Cabin At The End Of The World. It does look very accurate to the book from what little the trailer shows. I simultaneously loved and hated that book, so I'm torn between being hopeful that M. Night's writing is minimal (he rewrote a screenplay 2 guys wrote adapted from the book) and almost hoping that he comes up with his own ending. Must say, I'm very happy to see Dave Bautista.. and Rupert Grint!...in so many things lately.

Coraline reaction for Halloween PLEASE

please don't get your hopes up for Halloween Ends. they release it on streaming and in the movies is not a good sign, they drop the review embargo 2 hours before the movie comes out tells you it totally sucks.

There's only ever been one horror movie that I refused to watch for years and it was an anthology. They are the scariest ones. It was the Tales From The Darkside "movie" but it was just 3 shorter stories with the throughline of a kid reading them to this woman to stall her from cooking him up in a pie or something. Spoilers for a 40ish year old thing. Two of the stories really got me. One was about a mummy that was brought back by Christian Slater to kill people he didn't like. Steve Buscemi was in it too. They say that mummies would have their brains pulled out through their nose and flowers and herbs stuffed inside them. The mummy does those things to two living humans. For the time they were great effects. The story that really got me was about a very naughty cat. This old guy wanted it out of his house because it was terrorizing him so he hires an assassin. As one does. The old guy leaves and wants the cat gone when he gets back. The assassin tries to kill the cat a few different ways. The cat does not like this. It's at this point I'd recommend watching the clip because my description just isn't the same. It starts at 7:20 then once the cat is back out it just jumps on the old guy's lap and he has a heart attack. It's what it does to the other guy that got me. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dq2X0tOBka6YnbA.html As we near the end the cat decides he's had enough mucking about. Jumps onto the guy's face and covers his mouth and nose trying to get him onto the floor at which point the cat crawls into his mouth, down his throat and takes up residence in the guy's insides. We get a nice view of the whole thing. It's quite disturbing. Maybe the cat had seen Empire Strikes Back and thought it looked fun but didn't have a spare tauntaun laying around. Anyway, the guy is dead. The old man comes back and finds the guy dead but no cat so he's not thrilled. He's even less thrilled when the cat starts to move around and make it's way back up the throat and out the mouth covered in blood at which point it obviously kills the old guy because what else is there to do?

I've watched 4 episodes of Cabinet of Curiosities and it is brilliant, but it's not for the fainted hearted! It's a really good quality gore fest!

I’m so excited for knock at the cabin. I plan on reading the book before watching the movie, so I don’t know what to expect. The thing is, I’m also a bit worried cause shayamalan (pardon if i spelled wrong) is known for very bad movies. I hope this one is one of the good ones

I was watching someone else talk about the trailer and they had read the book. I'm going to pass on what they said and suggest maybe don't read the book till after. Apparently the trailer just scratches the surface and if it follows the book it'll be an amazing experience to go in cold. That way if the movie does justice to the book you get to experience all it's glory in the movie. If it doesn't you've still got the book and it'll probably have extra context that would be left out of the movie because that's just how those things work. I'm going to wait. Their logic makes sense to me. He's not necessarily known for bad movies. He did make like one good one. Maybe two. Unfortunately they were his first and it set the bar so high that what came later looks even worse by comparison.

Yeah I get what you’re saying but I love reading the books first. I’m not one of those readers that complains about changes in adaptations so that wouldn’t necessarily bother me. Also I don’t want to wait till February to know what the story is about, as I’m very intrigued and very impatient haha. Also, maybe I wasn’t clear about the director being known for bad movies. He certainly has a lot of good ones (sixth sense, split, the visit), I meant as, when he does the eventual “bad ones”, which is subjective of course, it’s really bad, hope that clears it up
