Hello, beautiful nature-loving, sweet, kind, and gentle family! My son, Abel LOVES watching your videos! You do such an amazing job...we feel like we are out there enjoying the beauty of the outdoors with you! I'm Colorado born and I went tent camping in the mountains all the time when I was a kid. Your videos help rekindle those good memories; the sounds, the smells and peace that came with it. Not gonna lie, I'm a little more high maintenance as a grown up girly girl and I don't know if I could be as easy going as you guys are. We just saw your tick episode and I immediately had the eebie jeebies with an audible 'EEWW!' No air conditioning, regular showers...you guys are amazing. (Riley, you are a queen!) Y'all continue to inspire my inner desire for an easier more organic way of life--Like when I was a kid! We have a duty to give Abel these awesome experiences so I will work on getting over myself. Haha! **p.s. - Abel and I call Jack Mr. Crazy Pants because we stumbled upon your channel when you were digging a trench to sleep in when it was like -20 below zero and snowing or something ridiculous. 😝 All of this to say, I love hearing Abel exclaim, "There's a new Mr. Crazy Pants video, mommy!" Blessings to you, Riley, sweet baby Olivia and precious Ellie! 💖-Marisa Faith

Of all the "dangers" of the northwoods, I was always more worried about being bitten by a tick that I missed than a chance encounter with any of the "big scary predators" which live in those woods. I saw so many people who were bitten by ticks and got Lyme or other diseases from them that ticks were truly one of the biggest issues with living up north.

Hello from Australia 🇦🇺. Love watching your videos, and inspired to do a build camper. Those ticks, not good. My son had a paralysis tick when on a camping trip. He was unconcious for 3 days till the team leader found him. A huge recovery due to the obvious, and pressure wounds . I avoid any national Parks that have ticks. Here in Australia, they are only prone to certain areas.

I like to use a small plastic rake to clean the area that I plan a fire to be. They are light small and do a good job making the area safe for a fire. You might want to try a “few” drops of water in your whiskey as it really, really smoothes it out! Got that tidbit from our tour of the bourbon trail years ago.

Repel insect repellent Sportsmen Max (40% Deet) Will take care of those ticks and anything else. I swear by this stuff! I never go to the woods without it! Good stuff for sure. Ha, he didnt think you knew your stuff😂 way to go Jack!

Thanks! Yeah the ticks are such bad news!

That is such a shame that people dont respect nature as the few will spoil it for the many. I love your new Travel Cabin sign and nice to see the park it one hanging back up. The area is lovely, thanks for showing us around, that fire tower is so tall (obviously has to be) but I wouldnt have been able to go up there, even if you were allowed.
