Cab Rides: Isle of Man Steam Railway Part 2

The second part of our cab ride on the Isle of Man Steam Railway takes us from Ballasalla to Port Erin aboard locomotive no, 4 - Loch. We've mounted five cameras to make sure we capture every bit of the action as we make our way along this beautifully preserved Victorian narrow gauge steam railway. It's a stunning Manx day with blue skies, so settle back and enjoy the ride!

What a lovely pair of videos. Really does look to be a beautiful trip. I have never been to the Isle of Man, but this railway is high on my list of places to visit. Well produced with some very interesting facts presented. Hope that the Manx Railway can pick itself up after the effects of Covid, it really sounds like a gem.

Superb informative well researched commentary delivered by a clear voice of good diction - and well recorded. I travelled on the Port Erin line back in the 1950s when I was a teenager (whose grandparents came from the Isle of Man). We stayed in Port Erin for many consecutive years of holiday in the mid-50s. One of my relations (Samuel Norris) back in the early 1900s was a member of the House of keys at Tynwald.

Another great video. I went there from Oz >25 years ago and don't recall all the ugly industrial buildings near Douglas. 'Progress'. It's certainly worth redoing. I hope passenger numbers in 2022 improve on what they probably were in 2020 and 2021. Terrific to see an 1874 loco still operating!

What a marvellous trip. Was the narrator speaking with a Manx accent? It was delightful to listen to.

Thanks Bruce. No - not Manx. Just a mangled collection of oddness which has also been taken for Irish and South African over the years :-)

@@cabrides Good to hear from you. I picked up the Irish, whichI thought entirely plausible. I meant also to say how successful your multi-camera set-up was. Nifty editing. I've never seen to IoM, so enjoyed the views as well as the ride.

@@brucewilliams8714 Thanks Bruce. The multi-camera shoot was fun, but hard work :-) The crew were kind enough to put the camera on the roof, which save me getting [1] dirty and [2] frightened by the height. You should go to the Isle of Man when it becomes possible again. Lovely place.

@@cabrides Lovely suggestion, but I no longer have a passport, and a 24-hour flight is not on.

I was good friends at college with a lad from Castletown. His accent led most people to think he came from Liverpool.
